Some glimpses of courage from the MSM... let's hope they don't lose their nerve.

The Government cannot and should not bring FOX down. Only the real News Media can expose and discredit this phony "News" Network. If they don't, what little credibility the Free Press has left will evaporate, consumed in an endless they-said/they-said circle jerk.

As I heard the tape, the government can and will investigate claims of voter intimidation. So far they have found none, as in "there are no complainants." The government investigation will stop there.

It's up to the media and people with common sense to go to the next step which is: "oh, it's just Fox Noise."

Unfortunately, there is a little "swiftboating" going on here. The Tea Party people are taking the NAACP's strongest attributes and attempting to use those against the NAACP itself; the way John Kerry's opponents used his excellent service record to "prove" Kerry wasn't a hero.

That's true. Unfortunately, too many Americans aren't really paying attention. They can name the suitors on Omarosa's Ultimate Merger, but haven't a clue who their Senators are.

To them, FOX is just another News Network, no better, no worse. They hear the FOXbot talking points repeated by their friends, and assume it must be true. Then they go vote out of fear and ignorance, against their economic best interest.

Nerz, I think that is what bugs me the most, that intelligent, college educated people assume that Fox is just like any other news source without looking deeper. It's a waste of the very education they purported to receive.

After reading The Authoritarians by Altemeyer, I understand now that these "intelligent, college educated people" assume that Fox is like any other news source because they are TOLD by Fox that they are like any other news source. As authoritarian followers, they will accept a falsehood as truth, even in the face of mountains of evidence, because someone they perceive as an "authority" figure has told them that it is true. It's not a political ideology so much as it is a psychological glitch.

Fortunately, the majority of folks don't have this glitch, right or left.

I do see an element of political ideology on the part of Fox. Fox has primed its viewers to a certain worldview that is continually being reinforced without much in the way of honesty, balance or rebuttal. Fox viewers have come to expect or even enjoy seeing their beliefs continually reinforced and their frustration and outrage continually stoked.

They have been told to expect radical ghetto politics to dominate Obama and victimize them. the psychological part is not just that they trust the good guys as authority figures but they have invested emotionally and intellectually in a world view that takes a lot of delusional feedback to be maintained.

For example, why do the Tea Parties conveniently overlook the role of conservative politics in enabling corporate exploitation of our government and economy? Instead the rage is directed at government and incumbents. As authoritarian followers they have been trained to empower the authoritarians even when it is not in their best interest to do so.

Fox is in the position of the authority figure . . . they would have a political ideology or an agenda to push. The followers don't necessarily have one. They are just following what the people in authority are TELLING them is "conservatism."

I was arguing with a college-educated successful business owner the other day, who kept trying to use his college education and his business acumen to suggest that he knew what he was talking about. He didn't. But he was sure that he did.

The political partisanship that causes people to ignore reality is toxic to our nation. FoxNews has allowed that to happen more and more often.

And everyone in the MSM and on cable news has reported on the expulsion of Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation for racist remarks -- with one notable exception. I'll let FairLiberal guess who's ignoring that "real news" story. Not only did Williams prove the point the NAACP was making, it successfully forced the Teabaggers to do something about it. Kudos to the NAACP, they won't get credit for it though in the MSM.

Blow said it correctly. No one has come forward to give testimony as to how the NBP actually intimidated them. There is no question that the two men in the video look intimidating, but they never speak to anyone or confront any person (at least not on the video tape), and no one has come forward to say that they were confronted. This whole thing is just an issue blown-up for the summer before the mid-terms. Wedge issue, anyone?

I thought the Teabaggers defended our precious frredoms...starting with our First Amendment rights to free speech. Does not the NBPP have the same First Amendment rights as those patriotic Teabaggers?

If there was actual, provable voter intimidation then those offenders should be prosecuted...but that's a determination that only the prosecutors can make. Otherwise, the cost of our freedom is to tolerate expressions of opinions that we find abhorrent.

Exactly. There has been a coordinated effort to plant the seeds of racism and then water them daily, and then act like they are "outraged" that no other media outlet has made it a front page issue.

Where was Faux 2 years ago when this happened? They supposedly filmed it, correct? Why didn't they make it a huge issue on that day? Doesn't it seem a little (a lot) suspicious that all this racism talk is happening across the Fauxhole right before the midterms - this issue, the "Glenda wants to rewrite MLK history, etc.?

Why didn't Faux give the teabaggers who held up racist signs, who stood outside the Capital, being egged on by CONGRESSMEN holding up supportive signs, spitting on our African American congressman media coverage and their outrage?

The agenda and double standard hypocrisy that is part of the daily political soap opera of the Faux network needs to be addressed. If the FCC won't do it, why won't the other networks take it on and expose the truth?

I bet a little investigative reporting could expose ALOT.

Fox did make a big issue of it on Election Day, but the authorities kind of pooh-poohed it that day, too. There were no reports of voter intimidation and there was a question about who called Fox AND whether the Fox camera crew might have been in violation of polling place rules. If I'm not mistaken, they were asked to leave by polling station authorities. The Bush DOJ investigated and found no evidence of voter intimidation, so they didn't file criminal charges . . . chose to file civil cases. This is a non-story. As I posted below, even the meme that this Shabazz jackass was an Obama supporter isn't true. He didn't like Obama.

      On Barack Obama and voting:
"He's a puppet on a string. I don't support no black man running for white politics. I will not vote for who will be the next slavemaster."

Besides, he added, Obama is "a Negro who doesn’t even support
reparations for black people in America."

You know who said this? Yep, the guy with the stick. It's funny, the same folks who are believing that Obama somehow gave this jackass a break because Holder took a default judgment against him in a case that the former administration's DOJ filed . . . they are holding him up as a hero for saying the above quote. I wonder if any of these folks are experiencing any cognitive dissonance.

In addition, these clowns are standing out in front of a polling place that was largely black in terms of its make-up, most of whom were probably voting for Obama anyhow. Sooooo. . were they intimidating voters to vote for Obama or for McCain (given the fact that they clearly have no love for Obama)? What was their agenda? Has anyone in the media even bothered to ask?

I'm also wondering... since they weren't inside the polling place, how was this "intimidation" supposed to work? Unless there was a breech of voter privacy, how would they even know who people were voting for?

This just gives FOX an excuse to repeatedly show footage of scary black men looking... scary. They know there isn't a real story here... and that's not the point, anyway.

c'mon people again its so transparently obvious what fixed noise and the rightnuts are doing here,,,its the same play every year when its a election coming up,,,they play this fear and intimidation card to their loyal foxbot listeners and in this particular case involving the NBPP and this polling place incident they play this video continuosly iin a loop, until what is not true becomes true to those foxbot listeners,,,the one thing that i will credit the rightwingnuts of doing is they have this uncanny ability to get the folks that watch and listen to them to vote against their own personal interests. its a very sad indictment of reality yet it has proven effective for the republican party for a long time,,,as i posted here about a week or so ago,,this case will and shall i say now has become the " new " willie horton ad.,,,one other question i have and perhaps someone here can address it,,why havent the so-called MSM used the militia men case of voter intimidation more and ran it constantly as a way of showing the disparity in each of these cases?,,just asking
