No Laura. You made no mistake. You followed the Fox handbook to the letter and made a presumption of guilt against a woman simply because she was a government employee working at the time that a president your network doesn't like is in power.

These excuses and the people offering them have one thing in common. They're both pathetic.

I hope Megan McCain's new book out sells Laura's book. Plus how many times has Billo gone after people for saying Happy Holidays? They are pathetic.

It's an open secret that right wing blogs and magazines like NewsMax buy bulk copies of books by folks like Ingraham, Palin, Beck, et al and use them as inexpensive premiums to attract new and renewing subscribers. Hence the inflated sales figures. I doubt there will be such bulk buys of Megan McCain's tome.

And they all did it most enthusiastically, but now that they have been confronted with their wrongdoing, they're doing what they always do: blaming it on the Obama Administration even though Vilsack says that the decision was his alone. Adam Serwer has an excellent post that gives a lot of background on this story.

They completely gloss over the fact that it was Breitbart that told everyone that she was a racist and a bigot. Oi!

So the rule now is don't blame the messenger that feeds you lies, only blame the person that believes the lies. Gotcha!

The conservatives have decided, bless their little lizard brains, that their best bet in November is to put their chips on racial hostility. I cannot for the life of me think why they believe this is even a short run winner, but they obviously do.

I suggest that the only thing to do is to keep on behaving rationally, in the firm belief that the truth does in fact eventually prevail.

I think that sort of faith generally is well-placed.

Unfortunately, this is true of pretty much every tv personality these days. I remember several weeks this spring in which half of "Morning Joe" was devoted to endless blathering about Mika's book, which I'm sure few bought and even fewer read (the "best seller" lists are easily manipulated by bulk purchases followed by giveaways) and Bill Press and Ed Schultz are equally shameless about pimping their books. What makes the conservative books so obnoxious is that they are all exactly the same- Obama sucks, Liberals hate freedom, we need to cut taxes, Muslims are evil, etc., and add nothing constructive to the national conversation.

Laura "she (Sherrod) says racism is worse today in the US"
I mean the nerve of this woman to come out with such an outlandish statement just because she has been vilified, lost her job because of a right wing hatchet job, she should be damn glad she wasn't accused of killing Vince Foster.
We all know those racist signs at the tea parties i.e. Obama as a witch doctor, nazi, commumist, etc were only put into those peoples hands by the 5th columnists sent in by the NAACP.

The reason racism is "worse" is because racist idiots like Ms. Ingraham just cannot stand the fact that there is a BLACK man in her WHITE House.

This quote fits, since Ms. Ingraham professes to be a good Christian woman

Laura Ingraham has more hang-ups about Michell Obama tham the president.Laura Ingraham has a problem with any smart black woman.Because she knows how dumb, and slow Laura Ingraham really is.Laura Ingraham's meanest hateful, and rotten attacks have always been against smart black women.Laura Ingraham knows a smart black woman will peobably be the first to know she is a fake,in so many ways. This is her reason for the shouting.Laura Ingraham's dumbness, and slowness is like a person who can't read put on the spot where they have to read something. They can't do it because they don't have their reading glasses

Michael Ingraham said directly to Laura Ingraham that she was persona non grata in republican party media.Everywhere but on the Bill O'Reilly show.Is it the sodiupenatal(truth serum)black mail,or the pity game. With Bill O'Reilly concerning Laura Ingraham,it often appears to be both.

Hmmm...let's see...who has a better sense of racism in America: Laura Ingraham, annoying-voiced right wing shrewbot, or Shirley Shirrod, whose father was murdered by a white guy but never brought to justice, because that happened routinely in her neck of the woods in the early 60's. But Laura labels Ms. Shirrod's view of racism today as "radical". keee-rist!

I'm totally opposed to violence, especially violence visited upon women by men. That said, if I saw Laura, I'd slap her silly.
