I got 9 minutes into this before my brain shut down.CNN has become a cesspool of "journalism".It is better to reveal what really happened and leave it at that. They had to punditize this issue to death.Drop it all ready.

Further confirmation that some "conservatives" accuse first, validate later, if at all.

I wonder why he said that, what he thought he'd get out of it. If someone is liberal, being at Netroots Nation is a great thing. If a conservative, s/he isn't watching CNN anyway. It was a weak attempt to discredit Ms. Walsh, who held her own. Goes to show who's smarter in this conversation.

I get the impression that Joan Walsh doesn't care one bit for Matt Lewis. Probably because he is a conservative media apologist. And a smug looking little bastige.

and Walsh seems to be a bit smarter and faster recognising facts/ We need courage from the media and a better collection of instantly retrievable facts.

I am almost thinking that FOX is a good place for idiots like Lewis so why does CNN think it is good to have him on ? They have an entire enterprise devoted for them as evidenced by Murdoch's not being able to name one democrat he has on payroll.

Lewis is on so they can make the case that they present all sides, but when Lewis, etal, say stupid and barely factual things they are never called out for their lies. Thank God for people like Ms. Walsh.

And she's an excellent writer as well.
She held her own because it was easy to stay with the fact.

At the end where they she lectured Lewis on why Sherrod isn't a racist, again just the facts, she should have continued and said racists are of every color, and Sherrod isn't one. If Fox wasn't spoon fed this garbage they'd be even more pathetic, they can't even go find a real Black racist!!! How pathetic is that, because they're out there.
All of Brietbart's manufactured scandals/right wing propaganda is beyond shallow, it's as empty as it gets.

Matt Lewis, I couldn't help but notice, was asked several times by Kurtz whether Breitbart owed Sherrod an apology for his smear. Each and every time, Lewis used the question as an opportunity to attack the Administration... as well as liberals in general... but failed to ever actually say whether Breibart owed his victim an apology. Kurtz blandly allowed Lewis his dodge, because he seems to see challenging wingers on their ever-droning use of deflecting weasel words to be an inappropriate lapse of journalistic decorum.

What ever happened to CNN, anyway?

Breitbart is still saying there is no evidence of Tea Party racism. We have had the visual and written record since the Tea Party began. So now we are supposed to believe him when he said he got the edited version of the video?

Well, I think that we should cut him some slack in this case. After all, it's not exactly like Breitbart has any HISTORY of using deceptively edited tapes to smear anyone.

So according to Howard, "the story changed as more facts came out." No Howard, the story changed when THE facts came out. Once again the media doesnt do their job and good old Howard Kurtz once again absolves Fox News of any blame at all.

How can anybody watch CNN and lump it in as a part of the non-existent "liberal media"? They are so damn careful to be labeled liberal and calling out Fox with some guts. If it wasn't for Joan Walsh, this segment would have been even harder to watch with all their different caricaturing of the real issue, which is Fox's powerful slime mechanism doing whatever they want to stick something to Obama involving race.
