interesting that rush choose to throw this lie out there just when news has been circulating that B.P. has been accused of backing the release of the lockerbie bomber in exchange for consideration on some oil exploration deals. what is rush preoccupation with defending b.p. at all costs. is he a stockholder?

Apparently todays RNC memo reads: 'Down play Sharrod. Blame Obama for Lockerbie bomber release.'

        You're right.

Our local Hate Radio DJ opened his show with this lie at 5:00 a.m. this morning.

        Coincidence? I don't think so.

This is the lie of the day. They're all saying it. Never mind that the memo to Scotland says nothing of the sort.

It's obvious that this is all orchestrated from one central source. The only question is who. It would be a great story for a real investigative journalist, if such a creature even exists any more.

It used to be the RNC blast fax of the day, or from Grover Norquist, neither of which is highly respected for their accuracy or integrity.

LOL! Hahahaha! OMG, Nerzog! Can't... stop.... laughing! Easier to find a unicorn to do the investigation. Journalism is dead.

I fear that you're right. And when, I wonder, will historians determine that journalism died? Many have argued, convincingly, that it died with the O.J. Simpson trial.

Did you hear? Rush backed the release of Charles Manson! It's TRUE! Just as "true" as his statement about Obama.

The right wing population doesn't want facts. They want conspiracies, hate and white supremacy.

Remember: both Rush and Glenn operate in the realm of "revealed truth" as opposed to objective reality.

This is a big part of their appeal to the "faithful." Theirs is a world of "faith-based" knowledge, which is a comfortable fit for those who profess Christianity. The Limbaugh/Beck audiences distrust those who insist upon operating within an empirical fact-based reality, and instead favor reliable sources of the purest crap that fits more comfortably within a carefully constructed framework of hatred, fear and prejudice.
