    Doh! I keep forgetting about that. Any criticism of Bush was "bad for morale" they told us... it "emboldened the enemy". I guess their obsessive vilification of Obama makes the troops feel all warm and fuzzy... since he's just a black guy.

      It is interesting to note the etymology:
      
      From Latin dénigrātus, the past participle of dénigrāre (“‘to blacken’”) from dē + nigrare 'to blacken (< niger (“‘black’”))

        Yeah, this struck me as a pretty blatant use of a code word.
        
        Even for your average non-Latin-speaking teabagger, that second syllable carries Lardbutt's meaning loud and clear.

        Hey, he heard 'nig' and figured it was appropriate. It's like the whole flap over the use of 'n!ggardly', which has no relationship to the Latin.

      You're right. I was thinking definition rather than etymology. "Denigration" is a verbal act, so it makes no sense as Blimpy uses it. "Degrade" or "dishonor" would make more sense, but don't have the cute little racial slur.
      
      As you've noted, he went out of his way to inject racism.

    I still can't believe a woman would lower herself to actually marry this piece of sh!t. How could she do it? I know the money will be good, but to actually have to sleep with this man and degrade herself is more than any woman I know could ever bear no matter how much the payoff.
