Quinn: Kagan is "as much of an America-hater as anybody else on the left"

BEAT ME TO IT!!!

And you know... there IS an America that the Left DOES hate: The America that exsists only in these Right-Wingers' wet-dreams.

THEY, on the other hand, seem to hate the American that ACTUALLY EXSISTS. The one that has Freedom of Religion. The one that tolerates descent - even when there's a Republican President. The one that racially tolerant, and believes in equality. And the one that doesn't torture, doesn't deny people a fair trial and doesn't detain without due process. Thoe one who believes in War as a LAST resort, and not a ends in itself and which is magnanimous towards her enemies in their defeat.

Though... to be fair, after 8 years of Bush, precious little of THAT country actually remains. And yet the people crying about "they want thier country back" keep voting for the same fools that have served to destroy it! The same fools who did more ACTUAL DAMAGE to the soul and spirit of what AMERICA really means and stands for than Al-Quaeda, the Soviets and the Nazi's ever dared dream.

In my experience, AMERICA, at it's greatest, has always stood for Liberalism: The Revolution, The Emancipoation, WWI, the New Deal, WWII. Conservtaism has only ever been prevalent in our darkest hours: The leadup to the Civil War, the lead up to the Great Depression, and the 7 years following 9/11/2001.

Almost everyone I served with voted democrat because most of them saw the Republicans as the abusers of the military. Plus they lived in Washington state, which is a Liberal state.

Yeah, I hated America so much that I spent almost 26 years in the Army.
