And just think--Jim Varney was Shakespearean-trained! Too bad Stuart Varney was only trained in Andy Capp...

When my daughter was a kid, we used to watch Jim Varney all of the time. He was quite an actor!

He was also a stone cold pre neocon. The actor who played Miss Jane ran for political office. Jim helped financially to defeat her. To bad, she was smart and funny the few times I heard her.

That said, I did enjoy the show in its time also.

On topic, yea yea, dispite most evidence to the contrary, its the republicans who'll save our financial butts. The most recent evidnece being the differences of cost of the unemployment extension and the cost of maintaining shrubs tax cuts. Which one had republican support?

                  Nancy Kulp was her name.

Nah, I was just feeling self conscious about it myself. I got no room to complain about it.

Idiots rule our country. Absolute, short-sighted, blithering, people who don't understand game theory, selfish, idiots.

I'm not talking about the official government, which actually kowtows to these men, and yes they are all men. I'm talking about the people who have been allowed, through public indifference, and professional malfeasance by the people who run pension money, to claim ever more for themselves in compensation. It's really an outrage.

There used to be a social compact. It's been violated by a multiple of at least a hundred. Well, you know what? Through our 401(k)'s, we still own this country, or what's left of it. I for one am pretty damned sick and tired of my shares votes going to ratify these obscene salaries for these jokers.

I have met several of them. Trust me on this one, or trust your own common sense. They are not worth what they are being paid.
