That's odd... Jord told me she'd kick my ass if I voted for McCain.

Now, whom should I believe... Jord, or some lying bimbo on Hate Radio?

If were going to bring God or Jesus into this argument, do you really think the right wing nutjobs are the "true Christians" in all of this?? No healthcare for the poor, no unemployment benefits for those who most need it, wars based on lies that have killed hundreds of thousands, I could go on but I think you get the point. If Gods paying attention i think the right wing has a lot of explaining to do come the day they meet thier maker. Just saying:)

I totally agree. They will be the ones at Jesus' feet saying that they did all these things for Him and He will tell them to go away, He didn't know them. At least that's what my bible says, the conservative, rich, white christians bible may be different than the bible of a poor pitiful liberal.

Absolutely. If they were such "Christians", would they worship money the way they do, or support people who lie and spread hate for a living on Talk Radio?

I'm no theologian, but I don't see how you reconcile the alleged teachings of Jesus with the modern Republican Party.

1 Timothy 6:9-11 (New International Version)

9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1 Timothy 6:3-4 (New International Version)

3If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions

            Hebrews 13:5-6 (New International Version)
5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
            "Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."[a] 6So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?"[b]

I didn't hear her give one explanation for why you cannot vote for Obama and still be a Christian!

She doesn't see any "fruits"? What is she, blind? How about holding Wall Street accountable for their actions against the people of this country? How about health care for ALL of God's children--not just the rich, white ones? How about making college loans available without going through the usurous banks? And there are more....

We will ALL be accountable for our votes! Look what happened in 2000 and 2004!!!! You think this country wasn't held accountable for the debacle of the Bush administration? What the hell do think that 8 years of chaos and poison and murder and war was all about?

"Rose, Rose, Rose"...talking out of your a$$ doesn't count as reasoned logic. Your comments still smell like they come out of your a$$!

The mistake you're making is looking for reasoned logic coming from a Hate Radio Troglodyte. Their currency is fear and hate... it's what works best for their addled listeners.

        Logic is their enemy.

And the democratic party is really really tolerant. They'll allow anybody to vote for Obama, regardless of their religious views. You CAN be a christian and vote for Obama.

But Rose is right about the accountability. For example, all of us are being held accountable now for those who voted for Bush in the prior two elections. Some Iraqis, too.

After citing the caller's admonition about Christ's "judge not lest ye be judged", she said, she ACTUALLY said: "I'm not judging, I'm laying out the facts"

While I don't expect logical argument from the FRA, they continue to impress when illogic is their argument.

I heard this BS the day after the election. One of the teachers at our school came into my room and said that if you voted for Obama you probaby weren't a christian. She went on to say that we (as christians who didn't vote for Obama, not me bc I'm a christian who did vote for Obama therefore I'm going to he!!) should pray for Obama's salvation. She said we missed the opportunity to pray for Clinton when he was in office and we shouldn't miss this opportunity to pray for Obama's soul. I just thougt how terribly hypocritical of her and others to think that Obama's soul needed their prayers. She didn't say pray for Obama as a way of support, just as a way to change him into what they wanted him to be, you know, a white christian conservative!

Rose, how can you call yourself a Christian and then make these judgements? If you call yourself a person of faith, you will be judged on your judgemental opinions. You aren't calling them like you see them, you are making harsh judgements about the state of other people's souls. I'm pretty sure that isn't something a Christian is supposed to be doing. And why didn't you have any trouble with good ol'Dubya being in office and all the things he did to the Constitution. Clinton just cheated on his wife, if she can still look him in the eye, why can't you?

After I started getting his books, I realized how much the 'media' had misrepresented some of his views...
          * Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.
o Said in November 1994, as quoted in John Dean, Conservatives Without Conscience (2006)
          * When you say "radical right" today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party, and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye.
          * The big thing is to make this country, along with every other country in the world with a few exceptions, quit discriminating against people just because they're gay. You don't have to agree with it, but they have a constitutional right to be gay. And that's what brings me into it.
          * Having spent 37 years of my life in the military as a reservist, and never having met a gay in all of that time, and never having even talked about it in all those years, I just thought, why the hell shouldn't they serve? They're American citizens. As long as they're not doing things that are harmful to anyone else... So I came out for it.

I just picked up "Broken Government: How Republican Rule Destroyed the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches" - from what I've read so far, it looks like this will be the start of a collection.

This is the construct that they need to rationalize their acts. It's a faith-based hate, making their actions sanctified; holy. Why it's almost. . . almost. . .wait for it. . . a crusade.

It's not "Faith" they are using, it's religion. Faith is inside the heart and soul; religion is outside. For some of us, they match. For fundamentalists, they clash. See the cartoon up above. It's the same thing as murdering an "abortion doctor" because "abortion is murder". But again, as so many of us have said here....we are being logical and that's anathema to them.

This woman is sinning. You are not allowed to say how God feels about people because we are all sinners. Anyone who feels as she does is not a Christian because she is practicing hate and the Bible tells you not to hate. Hate is part of anger and anger is murder per Jesus.
