      As a former 21-year-old heterosexual male, I can say with unlimited confidence that 12 and 13 year-old girlscouts would have been as safe with me as with their own mothers.

      Now, how could ANY non-pedophilic adult - straight or gay - not relate to that pervasive reality, Quinn? Hmmmm?

      Maybe you have trouble seeing the separation between homosexuality and pedophilia because your familiarity with pedophilia undermines your own conception of how vastly more abnormal it is?

      People who repeat this myth, rare as they are, have quite a way of spreading this ignorance.

      There is a clear difference between men who are sexually oriented towards other men and child predators. Some of these predators take a boy and a girl. Its about having power over someone, not "chemistry" as Quinn believes. Do prisoner rapists have "chemistry" with their victims? Are they gay?

      On a side note, one of the biggest arguments about why chemical castration doesn't always work is that sexual predators don't do what they do because they're "horny." They do it simply to do it. They will use objects sometimes if they can't use their genitals. They will use other parts of their body.

      I don't know what the statistics are, other than that males basically compose about 99% of all pedophiles. Female pedophiles are rare and are usually accompanied by a male agfressor.

      The practice of sexually abusing children isn't about from what "community" it takes place. It is simply about individuals who prey on the most vulnerable for their own power and satisfaction: children.
