If the right thought securing the border was about terrorism why did they make the debate about undocumented workers?

Because they wanted to give their followers someone to hate.

Seems weird for a strict constitutionalist to consider a judge reinforcing federal law "an activist".

On the bright side, this seals the fate of the Dems this fall, so now all you Republicans can stay home!

I think it was former Supreme Justice Renquist who said 'there's no such thing as a strict constructionist.'

What a lying sack of #$%#$. Whenever you are pulled over by the police, they always ask you for identification. Anyone who has been pulled over for speeding (me included) have been asked for driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance. If you don't have any of those 3 things, then you're going to jail.

People who are here legally should have these things. Those who are here illegally, do not have them. Every time my roommate, who is a cop, pulls over an illegal immigrant, they never had any papers on them and the vehicle is either stolen or it belongs to the company that they work for. And just to show that he does not discriminate, most illegals don't know how to drive very well.

Has anyone asked Rush's maid for her green card?

Wow . . . did you completely miss the point regarding the Arizona Law?

There is a substantial likelihood that officers will wrongfully arrest legal resident aliens under the new (law), Bolton ruled. By enforcing this statute, Arizona would impose a 'distinct, unusual and extraordinary' burden on legal resident aliens that only the federal government has the authority to impose.

Oh, and BTW, the Arizona law would have required much more than license, registration and proof of insurance. None of those are proof of citizenship. It would have required everyone of the targeted group, Hispanics, to carry birth certificates with them wherever they went whether they were legal immigrants or American citizens.

So, all unlicensed divers are illegal immigrants? The only thing you can assume from a driver who fails to produce a license is that the driver has no license. I know a lot of white people who have no drivers licenses. To ask an unlicensed driver to produce proof of citizenship is profiling and racist unless you also ask it of every single driver who fails to produce a license.

Driving is not a right but a privilege that means that asking for the things that make it legal when a person is pulled over is with in the law for the purpose of driving only. The states have the right to regulate driving. Immigration laws are per the Constitution the sole area of the federal government. This means the states have no say and are denied the ability to pass laws dealing with immigration.

Hey, Blimpy... the law never took effect. Since Arizona has been "unprotected" all along, shouldn't the Moozlim Turrists be having a field day already?
