Nope. Williams stated he was on his way to kill folks at Tides. Beck has admitted that he's pretty much the only person who is talking about Tides. Beck has repeatedly and FALSELY accused Tides of all sorts of nefarious activities against this country. Williams' mother stated that he watched Fox 24/7. Yep, I'm pretty sure that Beck bears some of the responsibility.

MM, if you are a conservative, you believe in personal responsibility. Beck needs to OWN his responsibility in this incident.

Even if anyone was doing blaming Beck, rather than asking Beck to take some responsibility (seeing as he is the ONLY one who has DEMONIZED Tides), it wouldn't be "projection". Look up the definition, then go take a flying leap, troll.

Beck has based his numerous character assassination-by-blackboard programs on much, much, much more flimsy evidence than what we have here. And yet Beck is sad, so sad, that he's being picked on. :(

Beck will deny he's a Republican (or even a "conservative") whenever it serves his purpose.
And then he'll turn around and embrace the label when it benefits him.
Of course, he'll ALWAYS deny he's a hypocrite...

Glenn Beck is as responsible for the attempted domestic terrorism "Plan" as Williams is. And I hope that the law agrees.

If you plant seeds of sedition and encourage people to arm themselves against -well, insert any of Glenda's targets - and they then act on your comments, you might as well be hiring them to carry out your wishes.

If an evil person takes someone that is mentally/emotionally ill and talks to them every day.... "the government is against you", "the TIDES FOUNDATION is part of a conspiracy to destroy our country", "our government is evil and out to destroy you", "its just a matter of time", "I need an army", "I need you to keep a diary (humm... called "California"?), "I need you to scour the internet, watch my shows, record them", "soon they will erase history, so listen to me" -

... and you feed this into the mind of an unbalanced man with weapons, body armor, an alcohol problem and mental issues. He listens every day and gets more and more agitated. Glenn Beck's words mix with the voices in his head saying "the government is out to get me", "Tides Foundation is evil and destroying America", "I must keep a diary with my Plan", and then finally - "I will start by killing people at the Tides Foundation".

Where else did he hear it? Glenn Beck talked about it 29 times on his shows. He connected the lines on his crazy chalkboard. And he fed a dangerous man information that the man then planned to use to kill people.

How is Glenn Beck not responsible here? Do you really think that this man heard his words of "do not use violence"? Does a mentally ill person listen to reason when they are being given information that validates their own conspiracy theories?

What administration words told Williams to take up arms against the Tides Foundation? Those were Beck's words, pure and simple.

"The Administration"? We're not talking about "The Administration", we're talking about how Beck- and Beck ALONE- targetted an obscure organisation for vilification... and how one of his fans took Beck's smears so seriously he decided to go on a shooting spree against them.
Try to stay on topic, would you?

Nope, people who act seditiously, like Beck, are guilty of sedition.

You might want to look up the definition of sedition.

The organized incitement of rebellion or civil disorder against authority or the state; insurrection or rebellion

          Yep, fits Beck's actions to a T.

as my friends have stated, this was not a discussion about the administration. This was an opinion on a possible outcome from Glenn Beck's actions that could have ended in tragedy. If you were not reading it with YOUR blindfold on you may have actually gotten the point of the post.

So, you are wrong and you make no point worth debating.

But Glennie, do you even watch your show? Do you listen to yourself? You do accuse the Tides Foundation of being a font of evil Progressive Cancer. And no, most people, most sane people don't go looking for obscure foundations to blame for the evils of society, and most sane people don't go out of their way to kill people that work there. You and your lot are fond of your guns, your gold, and your God. My lot doesn't necessarily even own a gun.

You, Glenn, are a lying sack of excrement. Violence is coming from one place, and that is you.

Yep, that's pretty much it in a nutshell.
      Nutshell...what an appropriate word.

And of course the Crazy Man cannot see any connection even after making that statement.

True facts are what Glenn fears and loathes most.
Distrust of empirical fact-based observation is the construct Beck builds upon. You first have to be a believer in Beck.

Beck's followers have a faith-based hatred for provable empirical truth, and prefer instead that "their truth" be "revealed" to them by Glenn.
Beck's faithful distrust traditional means of arriving at logical conclusions and opt for conclusions that fit ingrained ideology to be drawn out for them on a chalkboard by a witless clown.

Is there something loose in your heads? AC_Mem....the LAW will support his arbitrarily assumed association to the crimes?! Are you nuts? He didn't even know the guy. I personally don't think killing is the correct way to deal with corrupt, under-handed scum like Tides, but apparently Byron did. You know, if Mel Gibson gets assassinated, you might as well blame every news outlet for it because they all pretty much demonized him without knowing the full context of things. There is a STRONG lack of understanding of what individual responsibility is here at Media Matters. Bravo, guys.

Beck isn't legally responsible, nobody really believes that. But the sine qua non of this shooting were Glenn's fantastic, fevered fantasies about the vast, secret power of the Tides Foundation, convincing this lunatic Williams that it was his patriotic duty to drive into town and shoot the place up, thereby saving the nation.

Maybe you can give more content to the accusations about "corrupt, underhanded scum" than anything Glenn has with his murky vague conspiracy theories, but I sincerely doubt that the Tides Foundation poses any threat to the republic.

Big of you not to think -- just as a matter of your own personal opinion of course, and reasonable people can differ on the subject -- that killing isn't the correct way to deal with them, though. Big-hearted, really.

Have you even bothered to go to the Tides Foundation website? If your only information is from Glenn Beck, you might be surprised at the reality. The Tides Foundation is a charitable organization that supports (with grants) small and large organizations around the world.
They've given money to the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, the American Red Cross ($450,000), and thousands of other groups. Just this year alone, they gave out over 300 million in grants.

So go ahead and visit their site. Among the thousands of grantees I'm sure you'll find a few you can disagree with, but please don't make blanket statements that they are "corrupt, under-handed scum". You just don't know what you are talking about.
