Good advice. Too bad Numbnuts Bush didn't use that approach in 2003.

Hey, I love the president, but I wish he'd insisted Mr. Vilsack take that advice with Ms. Sherrod.

He should have taken his own advice with the Gates matter also.

I don't know much about reading body language nerzog, but it seems that at least three panelists facing the camera are expressing 'modesty.'

Simple, direct and non-argumentative. Let's hope we ALL can draw from the inspiration that we need to get to Dr. King's "promised land."

I'm so grateful Obama is our president. When I see those ads and bumper stickers that say "Miss Bush Yet" or something to that effect, I literally burst out laughing at the stupidity.

Same here. When you hear the mountain of lies heaped on Obama every day by the Troglodytes, you get the impression that he's some kind of radical, America-hating monster. Then, you see the real Obama on a talk show, and realize the FOXtards are just full of sh*t.

We see "the real" Obama on tv? I'm gonna pull a John McEnroe here and say "you cannot be serious?" Right, this is the "real" Obama on TV because everything is "real" on TV and people act very normal amd real on TV. I'm guessing that if Obama told you to drink koolaid laced with cyanide you would be a willing dolt.

      Sounds reasonable to me...

Is this the guy they say is a racist who hates white people; and is a Marxist/Socialist/Communist who is secretly implementing plans to destroy America?

FNC and hate radio all appeal to basically the same group of people, so this is all they hear. It's made worse when a more mainstream media corporation chooses to run with something the "yellow journalists" are spewing. But really aren't the really angry, the really outspoken, the ones even the most lucid reasoning cannot reach, a basically small group when compared to the overall population? What, maybe 5% of the population? Maybe 10%? My personal feeling is that while I understand the need to answer the critics, most of the things coming from the right are so ludicrous as to not warrant any response. The President makes a very good and valid point about getting all the facts (which I am sure he will be blasted about regarding the Sherrod mess by the very ones who started it) and makes a very solid point regarding the acceptance of others varying generationally. But it will make no difference to the continuing poisonous discourse coming from hate radio/blogosphere and FNC and their listeners and followers. Those folks minds are long ago made up and they cannot be reasoned with. So why even bother to address it?

The representation of the believers may be small, but the proclivity of the propaganda is a way larger percentage than who is represents.

You mean not jumping to conclusions like when the cop arrested that guy in Philadelphia. You know, that guy the neighbor called the police on, because she thought he breaking into a home. Yes, it turned out to be his own home, but did Obama look at the circumstances of the situation or did he just say he didn't know all the facts, but the cop acted stupidly.

The President isn't part of the "media culture that loves conflict". He was asked the question at a press conference and answered it--accurately. The cop DID act stupidly. You'd say the same if it was your house you were trying to enter, moron.
