IIRC, Rove is another college dropout, and it shows.

Which is it, Karl...did the stimulus not save any jobs, or did it only save menial government jobs? Can't have it both ways...

That's funny Curl, since it was the President that you worked for that started using the jobs saved stat after 9/11.

He's making the same dishonest argument that Wesley the weasel and RightON the paid troll make here when discussing this issue.

It's virtually impossible to say that any particular JOB was saved or created due to stimulus monies and government efforts.

It's virtually impossible to say exactly how many jobs have been saved or created.

But no sane economist TRIES to do that, or CLAIMS that they can do that!

The numbers on recovery.gov? Hard numbers from organizations that CHOOSE to report - that's a hard number, but it's self-reporting, and no one can actually say that it's an accurate number. If I'm a third grader who answers a math question with "14", I provided a hard number, but it might not be right!

What sane economists DO, with great skill and accuracy, is provide a RANGE. They look at previous job creation numbers and a whole bunch of other data to come up with those ranges!

This is the kind of garbage that goes on when parts of media is concentrated in a few hands. If you ask a fox fan(one of the smart ones) what qualifies Carl Rove to speak on economic matters? They would the ones looked at as smart will say;"Carl Rove is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, instant economics cred. They have no idea what he contributes.Carl Roved planed the Dick Cheney talk noise all over the place early, concentrating everybody's blame and anger there. While Carl Rove collected big piles of money from the hateful dummies he knew has it.....Carl Rove knows the republicans have blown it when they spent a lot of money making sure the name Barack Obama known by more people than Ronald Reagan...The republicans have spent more money making sure everyone know Barack Obama than they have spent in 30 years doing the same for Ronald Reagan........

I've got 2 good examples for you Rove.

      GM.
      Chrysler.

Were they not bailed out by your former boss, those jobs probably would have gone bye bye. A LOT of jobs.

absolutely right... you can pretty much count every employee of GM and Chrysler and every dealership and a large percent of the Supply Chain.

What people don't understand that, although Ford didn't need bailout money, the GM/Chrysler bailout saved them because they share the same supply chain and would have gone through major manufacturing problems/interruptions when their suppliers went bankrupt or were disrupted by the GM/Chrysler fall out.

I don't know the exact number, but 500,000 seems about right.
