I liked the guy who couldn't quite believe the police might pull someone over based on the color of their skin.

      Really?
Only a white guy could make that claim with a straight face.

What's more unbelievable is that anyone could believe that it wouldn't happen.

Most of the time a cop pulls someone over after following the vehicle for quite some time....How the cop get a good look at the drivers face? Especially of windows are tinted or if it's dark out??? Cops don't pull along side of vehicles just to get a look at you.....Come on....Don't generalize and try to say every cop is a bigot and a racist, especially when their are minorities that are cops as well......

dm, you make a good point. Some white men need to learn some empathy, and stop presuming things for other people....especially women and people of color.

O'Reilly, Hannity, Quinn, Gallagher, etc, might have profited by visiting the streets of Belfast or Derry just a few years ago, when walking while Catholic would put a person in danger...from the police. They might have gained a whole new perspective.

Only time will tell if this is a new trend for the judge or if it was just a temporary laps of sanity.

Haven't FOX's legal experts traditionally carried a tradition of breaking away from the RWTP when it comes to legal issues?

Why did MMFA not show the whole clip? What did Connie Mack say after the clip was ended? Hiding something??? And MMFA slams Brietbart for taking things out of context and not telling the whole story......

Why should Americans who 'look' Mexican have to carry papers? Should it be their birth certificates, discharge papers from the military, their parents' BC's?

He says that the law is un-American, a reference to America being a nation of immigrants. This is a concept that is taught in our schools. I know, because I taught it for years in my civics classes. It's true because we all came here from other nations/regions of the world. The majority of us are not indigenous to North America.

The whole thing is quite upsetting and depressing for me, how ignorant people are.

For generations, for centuries, first generation immigrants have NOT learned to speak English well at all. Second generation immigrants speak both their native tongue and English, and third generation immigrants have no trace of any accent, and only know the name "grandma" in the native tongue. Of course I over-simplify, but not much! The assimilation of immigrants today is actually faster and more complete than it was 80 years ago, due to TV and the Internet. Heck, in the early 1900's, Lawrence Welk, who was born in the USA, grew up in a German-speaking community in North Dakota! He got the accent he had because he learned English as a second language.

The idea that today's immigrants are "less-than" is the same attitude ALL large groups of immigrants have faced in the USA, and that attitude often comes from people who are only a few generations away from being immigrants themselves.

Our nation became great for 3 reasons - the most important one is that there were unexploited natural resources here. The second one is that we were unencumbered by the history that strangled and stifled Europe and Japan, and lastly, we are a nation of immigrants - people who were brave enough to come over here, risking everything in doing so. That stock of brave, energetic people is what made our nation great, and yet people always forget that!

          I don't understand why.

hat does that have to do with anything? America is not a place in which our police go around asking people to PROOVE they're American. That's just racist, xenophibic nonsense. It's uneccessary, COUNTERPRODUCTVE and, yes, un-Amercian.

WHO you do it to is irrelevant. We're BETTER than that!

Fox Business could fire the judge just for that comment alone, before they even cancel him for the low ratings he and the network will consistently be getting until the end of the century.

FixedBiz as a network itself is in danger of low ratings cancellation. Anyway, I'm sure Ailes and Murdoch will forgive Hizzoner for the momentary "point of clarity" that frequently hits all Fox anchors (and Shep Smith on a daily basis). Every once in a while, reason and sanity hits these people and they say something that actually makes sense. Then they get rewired and go back to their Stepford wives' ways.

Rest assured, the Judge will return to la-la-land by next week...

Been my experience that if you dont have any money, the cops will do whatever they want.and they will ignore their duty when they feel like it. Cops pulled me over for the light being out over my licence plate, because my exhaust didnt go all the way to the back bumper, and on a car WITH perfectly good exaust it was "kinda loud and rummbly" (1980 Trans AM) on and on. AND I'M WHITE!!! They are predators that seek out the weak in the herd and bully them. now with tazers they dont even have to work up a sweat. nor do they need a lot of excuse. The right to peaceable resistance is met with possible lethal force now that it doesnt leave visible injury that shows the corresponding pain that is involved. I am a law abiding citizen and and dont like being harassed or dreading the feeling of dread every time a pig rolls up behind me.
NO you dont have my permission to search my car, and yes go ahead and call a stupid dog that "indicates" no matter if there is anything there or not. its your time. I dont have anything on me yet they still feel the need to push me around. THAT is what you get when you are a BIKER in Michigan on the list the state police keep.
But hey thats ok, I keep a civil tongue and follow the law and carry my driving licence, birth certificate, social security card, Fishing licence, Pistol ownership card, and motorcycle rider training certificate, college ID, and military separations certificate DD214 on me at all time because this is america and we believe in freedom as long as your freedom permits have been authorized and validated yearly with minimal multiple fee's.
By the by I dont get or want a conceal and carry permit because that just gives them one more thing to tax you and hassle you for.

Gotta say, his Honor has taken some positions that me wonder how he and I both went to law school in the same universe.

But he's got it right with this one.

I don't understand how "small government" conservatives can claim to be guarding the gates against state tyranny, but have no problem giving police this kind of power.

In the same vein, how do conservatives justify our obscenely large standing military?

The Founding Fathers were openly suspicious of this, and would have sh!t themselves had they been alive to see US bases all over the world.
