But by that "logic" God CAUSED the spill.

      Wait a minute.

I thought you said back when this all started that God and the ocean could handle the oil, and there was no need to be alarmed.

My god Rush, you're an idiot.

Just like God is handling the millions of tons of plastic garbage that winds up in the oceans. God takes it all and places it into a giant swirling mass in the middle of the ocean that's out of sight and out of mind. That's how God gets things done when humans crap all over what He created.

Once again, this is Limbaugh harkening back to the late Michael Chrichton's hare-brained theory that the global ecosystem is an inflatable punching bag - one so big that it can literally take limitless amounts of damage, and always come back for more all fresh as a daisy.

And once again, Limbaugh would be wrong.

Whew! I was worried there for a while. I thought that this was America's worst environmental disaster for a while , but I am oh so comforted by this noted Academe that it is over. Besides, with oil being a carbon, and good fertilizer, perhaps it will turn out even better than before!

Well, it does look like the fact that it happened well away from shore, in a warm/hot time of the year DID help minimize the environmental damage. I thought it was going to have a much greater effect on the coastline, even after the oil stopped flowing from the ocean bottom, and it looks like that might not happen.

Of course, Rush is totally wrong in saying that the problem is solved, and we can only hope that the dispersants don't cause major long-term problems - it's too early to make that claim yet, but it didn't stop Rush from trying!

You see, in noted marine biologist Rush Limbaugh's mind, it's like how he has a hired hand skim the gnats off the surface of his Florida mansion's backyard pool twice a day.

No, the invisible hand of *****Saint Ronnie***** reached down and plugged the well, and skimmed the oil from the Gulf.

IMHO, anybody who says that the oil spill is not serious/is solved/the cleanup is done/etc. should be forced to swim in the toxic waters caused by the spill and the overuse of dispersants.

I don't think one can say that the water is toxic at this point in time. There are still a few beaches that are closed, but overall, the Gulf of Mexico is doing pretty good.

The dispersant is NOT present in strong concentrations anyplace in the Gulf. In its pure form, is is dangerous. There's no evidence, right now, that diluted in water it's very dangerous at all.

Anyone who says that we KNOW that the water is toxic is overstating the case. That would be you here.

According to Busty Rusty, this absolves all of us of personal responsibility. We can create problems & wait for God to solve them. Made a mess -- fuhgettaboutit, don't worry about it -- God will clean it up for you. So says saint manboobs!
