      Wait... I don't remember the snake making the decision... It was Eve, wasn't it? The snake was temptation, it was the choice of "man" that tainted the kingdom of God. At least that was what the priests in my church preached the meaning of the passage...

      I think maybe Beck needs to go back and reread that part if he thinks anyone had a "choice made for them".
      Also: Obama is literally Satan, but don't get violent!

      Glennie, if there is a snake in the current American Garden of Eden, his name is Glenn Beck. He is an especially hard, cold-blooded, and evil belly crawler, too. And when it comes to choices, I think you're the one who is trying to impose your choices onto your fans, and get them to foist it onto the rest of us.

      I'm a new member here and this is my first post.
      Glen Beck is the most dangerous man in America. I understand fully what he attempting to do here. Eventually he will start calling Obama the anti christ....just you wait and see. And 20% of this country will agree with him. Which is just so sad for civilization.

      Progressives don't want to go back, Glenn Beck, not to the 1850s or even to your glory days of the founding fathers. Progressives want to move forward and make changes for the betterment of humanity.

      Religious progressives see it as working toward the will of God, which includes the protection and salvation of all God's children, all God's children. The term "collective salvation" means the salvation of all God's children, not just the ones on our side.

      And most religious progressives consider the Garden of Eden, a mythical setting for one of the many allegories in the Judeo-Christian tradition, not a physical place where an actual snake taunted a innocent young woman.

      I don't know who you're referring to, Glenn Beck, when you say "...we fought in the Garden of Eden..."

        Glenn sees the the United States of 1776 as some kind of fantasy pastoral wonderland, filled with hope and the idea that you can accomplish anything through hard work and faith.

        Of course, that perspective was not shared by Blacks, Native Americans, Jews, Catholics or Women. The fact that all those groups now share more-or-less equal status in America is thanks to progressives, not to conservatives.

          or white males who did not own sufficient property. this is not a comdemnation of america, it is merely in agreement with you to illustrate that it is usually progressives who propel humanity to greater justice and freedom. of course beck uses the fear of apocalyptic times to suggest to his audience that progressives are propelling the world to armageddon

        The American Army fought against the snake in the Garden of Eden... I'm just not sure if we lost or won because the snake made our decision to be banished from the Garden. I can't imagine our Army losing tho. An Apache helicopter should be able to take out a tree snake.

        Typical Progressive behavior. We learned today that we are responsible for eugenics, the Holocaust, racism, the slaughter of the American Indian and now we get the topping on the cake... We are responsible for God casting mankind out of the Garden of Eden and Obama is that snake reborn to bring in the end of freedom and justice on Earth.

        Muahahahaha! Our glorious plan is nearly complete!
