Rush, I guess you are still saddened by your failure to pass one subject in college. It's ok blimpy, you are just a loser, admit it and you will feel better about yourself.

Wow, he continues to insult everyone. I'm sure the graduates of these institutions would take issue with the quality of their education that slimbaugh would like to portray. What kind of people listen to this guy??

Of course. Let's face it, my liege, ten minutes of Logic 101 would inoculate any moderately intelligent person against Rush's fantasies. Beck's too.

Rush is hitting the whole axis of evil today, I see attacks on higher education and unions. Naturally, education and labor organization are two of the most effective routes for the average person to level the playing field with the moneyed elite like Rush, so he has to discourage his suckers and their future generations from even considering those things.

The sad part is, his audience is made up of these fools who listen to Blimpy telling them that his philosophy is all about helping them to succeed. He wants everybody to be wealthy, I've heard him say so.

He says that, but he knows it will never happen. Most of his listeners will never break $50,000, but they've bought into the fantasy.

Blimpy comes from a family of lawyers, so I really doubt he's ever known any real hardship.

I was being sarcastic, of course. Rush wants his audience to stay right where they are, fighting each other for low paying jobs to help pump up his stocks.

That's called "rugged individualism". Rush probably worked all sorts of family connections, but he wants his suckers to know the joy of going it alone against him , the GOP, and the rest of the fat cats counting on the gullible dittoheads to support their lavish lifestyles..

I knew that. It's a double entendre. Second time I've used it on this site (properly, the other time.) I've never seen any writer but Edgar Rice Burroughs use it, and he used it often.

So I guess Limbaugh includes Yale among his hated Ivy league schools, and alumnus like Bushes 41 and 43?

I've never understood how conservatives like Limbaugh who preach "excellence" at every turn also bash students who attend elite schools like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton by doing it the old-fashioned way: thru lots of hard work, and without legacy admissions.

        The Leaders of the Crowd
        by William Butler Yeats

They must to keep their certainty accuse
        All that are different of a base intent;
Pull down established honour; hawk for news
        Whatever their loose phantasy invent
And murmur it with bated breath, as though
The abounding gutter had been Helicon
Or calumny a song. How can they know
Truth flourishes where the student's lamp has shone,
And there alone, that have no solitude?
So the crowd come they care not what may come.
They have loud music, hope every day renewed
And heartier loves; that lamp is from the tomb.

Because college-educated "elites" trend liberal, so their academic excellence is clearly suspect.

Only wealthy bootstrap "elites" like Rush, Sean, and Glenn - bereft of any actual pre- or post-grad academic achievement - can be entrusted to understand the needs of the commoner. This is why they can so loosely use terms like totalitarian, socialism, facism, statist, communist, Marxist and get away with it. Their audience is too uneducated to a) know what the terms actually mean and b) understand they are inaccurate when describing our Government or politicians.

I never attended the Ivy League, but I'll be the first to admit that college campuses often exist in a universe of their own where liberalism is a finely concentrated spirit.

          Was it annoying?

Yes, but never so much that I couldn't screen out the excess nonsense, and form my own opinions. My education was still first-rate, and I worked very hard for my degrees - something that conservatives like Limbaugh often dismiss on a whim to whom I can only respond with a hearty "FU."

No one has a right to judge my academic stripes, esp when I earned every single one.

I must be dumb, because I'm trying to think of any "leadership schools" from any actual "totalitarian nation", but I'm drawing a blank...

That's the thing about chasing people from room to room throughout the Castles In The Sky they build in their own imaginations: it's a pointless and frustrating waste of time.

[And I'm always looking to be better informed: are there any actual "totalitarian nations" in the world? And if so, what's the name of their top "leadership school", what's the name of their Harvard?]

Going after the educated and the educators Rush, are you still heartbroken over the fact that you could not pass even a kindergarten class? People that go after the educators and educated, and preach that being stupid is the cool thing: need to have their head checked. If it was not for the well educated Fata**. Then those planes you use to take trips to the Dominican Republic for your drugs and young boys; would not exist.

Just here to remind you that YOU ARE A DROP OUT Rush. The average high school kid has nearly double the intellect that you do under any given measure.

I attended The University Of Texas at Austin starting in 2000, when I was 38. Many of my classmates were under the belief that they were being indoctrinated into liberalism and were quick to assert themselves to uppity professors. They yelled in freshman bio that evolution was a plot against christians and the bible. They yelled at my summer school prof for having the temerity to point out the inherent racism during the Spanish American war in the Phillipines. A kid in an intro history class demanded to know,"...when we were gonna talk about the GOOD parts of slavery?" My question to these rude little people was," Wouldn't Rush hate you for going to such a liberal, lying school? What are you doing here, if you believe you're being brainwashed with evil?"

Heard some rumblings recently from the evangellicals that Einstein's relitivity theories are a liberal plot. I'm waiting for them to start in on quantum theory soon.

Another group of people derided "Jewish" science in the twenith century.

I can't wait for the Intelligent Design folks to wiegh in on these topics.

I love it. Rush struggles with his homosexuality, so he attacks 'deviants'. He struggles with his inability to connect and relate to females, so he coins phrases like 'feminazi' (the one that first put him on the map). He REALLY struggles with his failure as a student of higher learning, and he lashes out at those institutes.
And his people buy it. Literally. So many making 20, 30, 50K a year are nodding their head along with him. "Yeah, it's those liberals and guv'ment that keeps me from being rich too."
Rush reminds me of a person in a novel I read, that could sell over the phone. Great salesperson! But if you met him in person, all you saw was this pathetic, sweaty, fat loser.

      Let's see.

Right-wingers supported an administration that did warrantless wiretapping (and Obama is wrong for continuing this). 4th amendment.

Right-wingers want to repeal the 14th amendment (to prevent so-called "anchor babies").

And now, right-wingers are angry that New York didn't pass a law that would violate the 1st amendment to prevent the construction of the "Ground Zero" Muslim community center. In fact, many of them don't want mosques at all across America.

And they believe that we left-wingers are anti-constitutional and totalitarian?
