The sad part is, his audience is made up of these fools who listen to Blimpy telling them that his philosophy is all about helping them to succeed. He wants everybody to be wealthy, I've heard him say so.
Blimpy comes from a family of lawyers, so I really doubt he's ever known any real hardship.
That's called "rugged individualism". Rush probably worked all sorts of family connections, but he wants his suckers to know the joy of going it alone against him , the GOP, and the rest of the fat cats counting on the gullible dittoheads to support their lavish lifestyles..
No Pubic Option= total abstinence, even after marriage; (worked out well for the Shakers)
Offical= New diet drink: 0 calories, and tastes offal.

I've never understood how conservatives like Limbaugh who preach "excellence" at every turn also bash students who attend elite schools like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton by doing it the old-fashioned way: thru lots of hard work, and without legacy admissions.
Only wealthy bootstrap "elites" like Rush, Sean, and Glenn - bereft of any actual pre- or post-grad academic achievement - can be entrusted to understand the needs of the commoner. This is why they can so loosely use terms like totalitarian, socialism, facism, statist, communist, Marxist and get away with it. Their audience is too uneducated to a) know what the terms actually mean and b) understand they are inaccurate when describing our Government or politicians.
Was it annoying?
Yes, but never so much that I couldn't screen out the excess nonsense, and form my own opinions. My education was still first-rate, and I worked very hard for my degrees - something that conservatives like Limbaugh often dismiss on a whim to whom I can only respond with a hearty "FU."
No one has a right to judge my academic stripes, esp when I earned every single one.
I must be dumb, because I'm trying to think of any "leadership schools" from any actual "totalitarian nation", but I'm drawing a blank...
That's the thing about chasing people from room to room throughout the Castles In The Sky they build in their own imaginations: it's a pointless and frustrating waste of time.
[And I'm always looking to be better informed: are there any actual "totalitarian nations" in the world? And if so, what's the name of their top "leadership school", what's the name of their Harvard?]
Love it.
That has to leave a mark on your cold and lonely heart that no amount of money can cover up.
Another group of people derided "Jewish" science in the twenith century.
I can't wait for the Intelligent Design folks to wiegh in on these topics.
And his people buy it. Literally. So many making 20, 30, 50K a year are nodding their head along with him. "Yeah, it's those liberals and guv'ment that keeps me from being rich too."
Rush reminds me of a person in a novel I read, that could sell over the phone. Great salesperson! But if you met him in person, all you saw was this pathetic, sweaty, fat loser.
Right-wingers supported an administration that did warrantless wiretapping (and Obama is wrong for continuing this). 4th amendment.
Right-wingers want to repeal the 14th amendment (to prevent so-called "anchor babies").
And now, right-wingers are angry that New York didn't pass a law that would violate the 1st amendment to prevent the construction of the "Ground Zero" Muslim community center. In fact, many of them don't want mosques at all across America.
And they believe that we left-wingers are anti-constitutional and totalitarian?
