Well, the Right soiled their collective shorts for weeks over one black man with a nightstick. What would they have done if he'd been asserting his 2nd Amendment rights?

I wonder, and I know that this is just a thought thing here, but what if during W's 2 terms in office, black guys had shown up at his appearances to protest and were strapped with assault weapons?

I just watched it. Amazing words, challenging thoughts...and the Truth from a 20-something rap artist. He's right. So maybe at the next Tea Party rally, a group of African-American men need to also show up armed, like the White men. Let's see how that goes for some realism on racism.

Michael Steele is one who is in a politically powerful position. Roland Burris is not - I don't agree that a temp Senator with no seniority is in a very politically powerful job. Yes, being one of two senators from a state is something, but when you're simply a placeholder, your position isn't very powerful.

But yeah, Rush doesn't know much if he thinks that Dems keep black people out of politically powerful offices.

Right. Remember, Democrats were the first to nominate a black for the Presidency. Do you think Rush is so deaf he cannot even hear his own totally off the wall comments. Well, on the Republican side, I think they had JC and one black Senator but not even sure of that. Anyone notice that Rush is sounding wiggier and wiggier. Will all his excess weight and hysteria just overwhelm him one of these days? I really worry about him stroking out. He needs to take better care of himself. Where would we be without the Limbaugh Funny Farm?

The only prominent republican "leader" is Michael Steele-and as bad as it sounds, that was a token appointment to match the historic election of Obama. He's more than proven that he's not capable of serving even adequately.

That's not fair - I'm an Oklahoman, so J.C. Watts is fairly well-known to me. From my understanding, he's fairly intelligent. His book, What Color Is a Conservative: My Life and My Politics, is actually quite thoughtful and well-written.

Of course, I vehemently disagree with his politics and am critical of his career itself. But he's not an idiot.

Next time you read a conservative troll posting about how it's the liberals who are always playing the "race card", remember this article and the words of their de-facto leader.

This is actually an old recycled talking point. It goes hand in hand with the "democrats only support social programs to buy poor people's votes" shtick that never seems to imply that "republicans only promise tax cuts to buy middle class and upper income bracket votes".

Marco21, I think the way he just comes out and says it does have shark jumping implications, only I think Limbaugh jumped that shark long ago, sold the motorcycle, and has now married and divorced both Tuscadero sisters twice.

So it was the Democrats who were denying Barak Obama his birthplace and his citizenship.

So it was the Democrats who were pounding away on Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers non-stop.

So it was the Democrats who were accusing Barak Obama of being a Muslim who was schooled in an overseas madrassa.

All this time I thought it was right-wing slimeballs like Lush Limpbaugh. Silly me.

Is there currently any white man on the planet who spends more time talking about black people, than rush limbaugh?

      It's a serious question.

Truly, the only white people who ever seem to talk this much about black folks, are 'white supremacists' and the Klan, I'm not sure who else, maybe there are white men who teach African-American studies or something along those lines... is that what rush limbaugh is doing, is he teaching African-American studies or 'Black Heritage' or race relations?

Those are serious questions by the way, and I suspect they may in truth have some seriously ugly answers.

Even we African Americans don't talk as much about other AAs, and we don't talk much about white people in general. My daughter and I were at the doctor's office yesterday where I saw some AA basketball players on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I asked her who these folks were, and she said she didn't know. LOL. We don't talk about what Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, Sr. are up to because it doesn't interest us. We do talk quite a bit about the antics of the republicans in Congress and why they don't want to do the right thing, but we never talk about their race as an issue. Their race isn't important, but their failure ot govern is very important if we're to work toward emerging from this recession. I think most AAs are just like millions of other Americans who do their jobs, take care of their families, attend church and other social/cultural events, pay bills, etc. Issues of race don't occupy a significant portion of our time. I have yet since January 2009 to be among any AAs saying anything racist about any white person. The discussions usually center on the issues, and the same topics we discuss here on MMFA. Limpy or usually someone on the right mentions race first, and they are always first to mention how racist AAs are, even when they have no proof. It reminds me of Gohmert on AC360 when he couldn't provide evidence of his "anchor baby" claim and became angry with Anderson Cooper for asking for proof.

Somewhere on the inter-tubes there exists a CNN interview with JC Watts' father, who explains that he did not raise Watts to believe the republican, racist things his son championed. I honestly believe that republicans of color were raised to hate blacks by self-hating blacks or they are just in it for the money. I lived with a man who was the only black COUNTRY AND WESTERN DJ in the nation, probably ever. He and i spent much time discussing race and his explanation of blacks who loathe other blacks explains Thomas Sowell; Malkin and D'Souza, however, are fervent, hateful racist, true-believers. And, as someone raised by racist white republicans, I assure you, ALL of these people are referred to as "n!ggers" or something similar as soon as they leave the party. Repugs will take their votes and energy, but when the chips are down, next time they are filling trucks with people of color, Malkin and the rest will be part of the roundup, hatred of democrats or not.

And if your side is NOT trying to do that very same thing, well, it's because you don't have to TRY in order for that very same thing to happen naturally!!!!!
