Another great example of a right wing nutjob spewing craziness without a clear understanding of the subject at hand. Wingin it again are ya Rush?? Or is that an everyday strategy??

We'll build a Shinto shrine to Rush.

Except it will have to have the "n" and the "o" removed, and the word "Bull" placed in front of it.

Still wouldn't mean much . . . Religion is not a big component of modern Japanese culture.

OMG! Rush admitted he made a mistake. You know what though. Most Americans have never heard of Shintoism. If had they might know that the idea of a Shinto holy war is absolutely preposterous. Shinto is not an exclusive religion. Many if not most Japanese practice both Shinto and Buddhism. Some even practice Shinto and Christianity. I suspect even Shinto and Islam are practiced by some.

Shinto is not even a religion, it is party of the original philosophy of Buddhism. Buddha himself questioned the idea of believing in a deity or deities, if the belief harms people and take away progress of enlightenment. All though Taoism philosophy makes more sense.

I'm not sure if Shinto is really a religion or not but that was the most convenient way to describe it. Also not sure what you mean about Shinto being part of the original philosophy of Buddhism. Shinto was practiced for centuries before Siddhartha was even a twinkle in his father's eye.

      Rush?
      Not all Hindus are Indian.
      Not all Indians are Hindu.
      Not all Japanese are Shinto.
      Not all Shintoists are Japanese.

I know it's hard for a bigot like yourself to understand, but just because your life is simpler if you can pigeon hole entire populations with false labels, they are still false labels. Generalizations are among the most common of logical fallacies. You are a big part of that problem.

And? This woman is writing an opinion piece. In this country, she has that right. Doesn't mean it's factual.

Not really very bright, are you? Probably why you watch and believe Fox/hate talk radio is NEWS and not opinion.

In the first sentence Mr. Ferenstein says that there is no evidence that Andrew Breitbart is a racist. I did not read anymore of it.

        OUCH !
        one whole paragraph !
        OUCH !
"Mediamatters.org, the nonprofit media watchdog group, ignored O'Reilly's full commentary in its analysis, fueling a viral story on the backs of an audience that probably did not take the time to listen to the entire five-minute clip. Sparked by motivated reasoning, the ensuing blame game proceeded in predictable, cookie-cutter form: O'Reilly accused Media Matters of a "hatchet job," and Media Matters labeled O'Reilly a racist."

Media Matters labeled O'Reilly a racist.
Plus I don't see where MMFA labeled O'Reilly a racist, as the author claims they did. As far as I know, MMFA has never given any one person that label. Calling people out for making "racially-charged remarks" is an entirely different thing.

Most likely it's a classic case of a report being based upon the discussion or comments section of a website. The RW media love this because on any given website you'll always have the extremes and presenting the extremes as being the opinion of a website in it's entirety is a favorite ploy.

The HuffingtonPost was under attack by O'Reilly for some of the comments on it's site. Yet Fox never takes ownership over the comments made on it's site. Nice double standard eh?

Regardless none of this has anything to do with the MMFA article in question and we shouldn't feed this troll and just let the admins take care of the offtopic trolling.

Off topic... And who cares? So was the Drudge Report.

What you fail to understand is that your incorrect perception of the media doesn't affect us like it affects you. An opinion column doesn't change our goals for America. We're Progressives because we believe in something... We're not just rooting for our "home team."

This shows the ignorance of these people. They know little, or nothing, about other religions, yet seem happy to criticize them. Rush is no better than those people who burn down Sikh temples thinking they're mosques.

Yes, because there are Shinto Buddhists in Japan, it was that theology that led to Pearl Harbor because you know how those people are.

After all, they aren't Good American Christians (TM) who listen to the 13th disciple, Rush Limbaugh, or watch the official television network that God watches(Good American Christian (TM) version of God, of course)

This is beyond xenophobia, beyond cultural ignorance, and beyond bigotry. And certainly beyond my understanding.

I wish MediaMatters would do a "who's still advertising on Rush" watch like they do for Beck. Divisive ugliness like this must not go unanswered.

      A) Tibet
      B) India
      C) The West Indies
      D) All of the above
