Yes, I'm sure she's terribly offended on behalf of the people she would dismiss as "not Real America" in any other context.

I agree, she is so concerned about the "lingering pain" of people she usually dismisses as not real Americans, I mean they are New Yorkers for christ's sakes..
For someone who loves states rights and doesn't want big (federal government), she seems to want the feds to shut down what the locals are OK with; not to mention the free market rights of this property owner selling his land to the highest bidder. So she is for drill, baby, drill; not sell, baby, sell.
To paraphrase Shakespeare who will rid us of this troublesome half term governor.

I like your post, gg, and not to niggle, but it was actually Henry II who wanted to get rid of a troublesome priest.

Of course, it resulted in the martrydom of Thomas a Becket, and for my money, a better fate for Sally Pally would be for her to grow old in poverty and obscurity.

      Memo to Sarah Palin :

99.9% of Americans don't care whether they build a community center (its not a mosque) NEAR ground zero. (it isn't "at ground zero" either.)

This is another right wing manufactured "controversy". Next week it will be something else. It's all crap, and the media buys it because they like buying right wing talking points.

Plus, I'm sure the residents of Manhattan are waiting with bated breath over what Palin's next comment about this whole "ordeal" is.

She, Gingrich, King, Geller, Beck, Limbaugh, Conyers, and others like them are the bottom of the barrel in terms of what it means to be an American citizen - those who'll happily cotton to fear than silly "liberal" concerns like the rule of law.

Islam is a religion, it is not equivalent to terrorism.

It has a rich history of both violence and peace, as does Judaism and Christianity.

Someone in our country needs to stand-up to point this out to keep these kooks under control.

Oh, right, Obama & Bloomberg pretty much DID say that. But our media sux, so let's just keep the "debate" going. Pathetic.

BTW, how do you think Sister Sarah would react if someone said there were already enough Christian churches...?

Would someone care to explain to me just why we should listen to someone who abandoned the commitment she had made as an elected official on this matter? Or, for what it's worth, on just about any matter?

You betrayed the oath you took, oh half term, half wit. You don't get to speak for the American people.

Because the "working press", lazy frogs all, run to publish Sarah Palin's every private musing without demanding she do so in front of reporters. This has had the predictable consequence of other candidates (like Sharron Angle, for example,) successfully dodging media scrutiny.

I do not believe Sarah Palin is intelligent enough to have authored "death panels", "stab in the heart", "lamestream media" or "not above Obama's pay grade." She employs a writer or probably writers from a Cato Institute to create these short, memorable bumper sticker quotes. Sarah is more the word salad type.

Palin probably DID pen "refudiate," as it is more consistent with her public malaprops.

The point is, we'll never know because Sarah's "media cloak" has so far worked perfectly.

          >>>>I do not believe Sarah Palin is intelligent enough to have authored "death panels"

She wasn't. That was Betsy McCaughhey. Palin just took her paranoid "death panels" football another ten yards down the field, and spiked it in celebration at the 42 yard-line after thinking she was in the endzone.

Does anyone else find the "stab in the heart" phrase Dumbelina has adopted spookily reminiscent of the Nazis' "stabbed in the back" rhetoric to explain the outcome of World War I?

On a lighter note, Palin's voice is a stab in the eardrums. And real Americans respect religious freedom.

Actually, I've been in the grocery store several times and seen "STABBED IN THE HEART" as a tabloid headline, relating to whatever famous-for-being-famous celebrity has been wronged that week. I always think of that when I hear her use that ridiculous phrase, especially since she's on the same level as whichever Kardashian/Hilton said headline usually refers to.

That's funny, I was thinking " Snooki" as I (barely) endured the shrill and incoherent clip.

I'm an American, and the building of the Muslim center is neither a stab in the heart nor a slap in the face to me.

Now, one of our countries two major political parties picking this imbecile as the VP candidate, that's something that deserves an apology.

Sarah's scolding about Obama's underestimating the wisdom of the American people are pretty laughable, as her failed run for the White House was based entirely on appeal to the lowest-common-denominator.

And, Greta... she's not a governor, she's a failure, a quitter, and a D-list celebutante. She's a guest commentator on Fox "News", that's all you need to know about the value of her opinions.

Stab in the heart of whom precisely Simple Sarah:
      Americans or just Judeo-Christian Americans?
All 9/11 Victims and their families or just those of the Judeo-Christian persuasion?

You could almost see the specks of spittle as she tripped over herself to get out as many (non)indictments of POTUS as possible in 60 seconds. So transparent, so pathetic.

The proper way to respect Ground Zero is to commemorate the loss consistent with our values and principles, not to debase these values out of fear and loathing. To do so is to give the jihadists the victory they seek.

This is just another example that American politics is not about anything real. Because monied interests, via campaign contributions, own both political parties, U.S. politics becomes about phony issues.
