Not so much slander as run-of-the-mill ignorance and hate-mongering vis-a-vis: "9-11 was a terrorist act. The terrorists were Muslims. Therefore, all Muslims are terrorists."

          Beck is sub-human slime.

I don't know. He seems to be saying that the people who are building the community center were involved in the 9/11 attacks. I'd say that's slander unless he has some evidence that they actually were. If he does he should turn that information over to the authorities.

Thing is, they don't have the right to build anywhere that they want, but, according to local ordinances and permits that they've obtained, they can build this community center on the property that they privately own.

Beck is trying to apparently paint all Muslims with the terrorist brush, which is what all of them have been doing here as of late. And again, this plays into actual real live terrorists' hands. As in, "See, we told you that America is at war with Islam and not just us."

Beck and his buddies are HELPING the terrorists by doing what they're doing.

SO al-Qaeda is building the community center? I hadn't heard that.

Oh wait.. Beck thinks every Muslim is a terrorist and member of al-Qaeda.

I wonder how all the muslims in the tea party feel about that. Oh.. wait......

You don't even need to narrow it down to The Mormons. I think Christian churches in general have been involved in enough attacks on science and logic, recently and historically, that it would be insensitive for them to erect "Victory Churches" anywhere near institutes of objective learning.

It's just a slap in the face to those who suffered "6,000 year-old-Earth", "Two cells are a person", " snow beats Global warming" and " Jesus-riding-dinosaurs" assaults on their sensibilities.

This has nothing to do with religious freedom or the constitution. I'm not saying the Christians can't build a church near a school. The question is why do they want to build it there? .

In the same vein, did you see Jon Stewart's bit on how insensitive it would be to build a Catholic church near a playground? hee . . .

"If you want to unite people, you don't spit in their face!"

Hey, Glennie, you are one to talk! What about your 8/28 rally? How uniting do you think that crapstorm is going to be? And maybe you aren't afraid of Nancy, but if you listen to yourself, she has every rigth to fear you. She is as much a citizen as you. She may work for the people of this country, an honor she is very much aware of, but she is also a citizen. A being a civil servant does not mean that you get to threaten or intimidate her.

Another ignorant, offensive argument from this ignorant, offensive man.

This is the kind of attitude that plays against those who have called for this project to be moved to another place. Beck, in no uncertain terms, just accused a community of American citizens of being a part of a monstrous crime. His rant centered not on the location of this center, but on the religion of those who wish to build it.

It was a clear display of irrational, hate filled thoughts. It was the same flawed, ugly rhetoric we've been hearing from those who would strip Muslim Americans of their right to build any kind of structure anywhere.

The First Amendment does not have an asterisk. Those rights are not subject to change simply because of polling data.

Hey, Nostradumbass... if you have evidence that this particular Imam was involved in 9/11, you should contact the FBI immediately.

Failure to divulge such information is probably a Federal Crime.

Otherwise, consider Shutting The F*** Up.

Who, according to most reports, are traditionally conservative voters. I heard a strategist saying that these folks REALLY do not want to go down the road they are taking. They've insulted Hispanics, they've insulted African Americans and now, they are going after an entire religious group.

My guess is that Beck's definition of a "moderate Muslim" is one who has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and attends a suitable Protestant church every Sunday. And donates to GOP candidates.

Muslims who haven't done this? Radicals.

I find it kind of funny that these rightwingers don't want to talk about any of the real issues that americans are dealing with (the economy, healthcare). All they want to talk about is this imam that someone is building. Talk about being out of touch with the american people.
