Now, like many other right-wing professional liars, he's conveniently become their new best friend.
Personally, I would like to rub a copy of the Constitution in Limpy's face, but he would just use it for toilet paper.
Busted.
I have, however, on an all too frequent basis, heard a different community of American citizens use 9-11 as a justification for a wide variety of political goals. Their religions and backgrounds vary greatly, but a number of them share one curious thing in common; they either are or have strong ties to a handful of politicians who support the Republican Party.
A rather despicable tactic, wouldn't you agree, Rush?

They could contradict themselves in the same sentence and they wouldn't notice.
Muslims died in the World Trade Center, Muslims serving in our military are fighting in both Iraq & Afghanistan. Muslims have died in both countries wearing American uniforms. And there's a wall at Arlington where there are at least 12 men's names engraved who died fighting a war that you supported but refused to participate in.
Twelve guys who made the ultimate sacrifice for you, you traitorous creep.
In Limpy's drug-addled mind, they're probably "phony soldiers", too . . .

Here's Richard Dreyfus's answer to that question on the Bill Maher show:

Where do you live?
I've seen them go up before Halloween.
Did the NRA rub our noses in it when they held their rally in Denver after Columbine?
Now if the NRA had called for a convention in Denver AFTER the Columbine shootings took place and staged events to tie the two together (like bus trips from the Convention Center to Columbine High or guided tours of Dylan and Klibold's homes), THAT would have been a clear case of nose-rubbing.
I'm not sure how Limbaugh stays on the air despite being offensive and a large group speaking out against him.
No, but Jon Stewart replayed a clip of Charlton Heston right before that Colorado rally, and agreed with what he was saying. It was a very good bit, from last week I think.
I'm still trying to figure out why it is that Rush and Beck think that bigots should get more rights than your average law abiding American citizen, because... oh, wait. Right.
The rest of us just say, "Excuse me," and look embarrassed.

By the way, do you know if we were attacked by Muslims, or terrorists? You seem a little uncertain about this...
No, Limpy -- but, they DO have the right to "rub our faces" in the First and Fourteenth Amendments {if only because that seems to be the only way to remind some people of them . . .}
It's called the First Ammendment, and it covers both Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion.
So yes, if they wanted to, it is absolutely their right to "rub our faces" in whatever they want; as bad taste and judgement as that would show.
But let's face it: If being an @$$hole was a federal offense, you'd be 20 years into your lifetime sentence by now.
