We weren't allowed to see what the controversy was about.

Really? I saw the cartoon many times. Who does he think "didn't allow" us to see this? Hell, we probably debated it here in this forum!

      Idiot.

He went to war with PIRATES, you dumb sh!t.(Which is why TJ is vastly overrated as a president; who doesn't like pirates?) And then he signed a treaty specifying that the war wasn't with Islam, and that we weren't founded as a Christian nation.

Is Limbaugh determined for the US to restart the Crusades?

Because this kind of idiotic rhetoric does nothing but give Bin Laden and the leaders of Al Qaeda a free commercial for brand-new recruits - all of which begs the question: is Limbaugh that stupid, or does he put his own bottom line ahead of the welfare of his own nation?

        Wait, don't answer that.

you elitists and your "facts".incredible that rush could pervert an early historical fact which clearly, undeniably demonstrated that america was NOT founded as a christian ,or any other faith, nation, into the idea that "we" have been at war with muslims since the inception of the nation

And how is the outcry about Mohammed in a bomb-turban different from the outcry of a crucifix in a jar of urine? Geez! The Fundamentalists nearly closed down the National Endowment for the Arts!

It might not be to his advantage to bring those riots up, since Rauf was vocal in his condemnation of them.

which is mild compared to riots where people lost their lives.as an atheist and liberal with great respect for islam, i think it behooves us to remember that the interpretion of islam by some radicals and the violence it inspires is evil. just like for most of its history the interpretation of christs message by many christians was evil.you cant seriously say the outcrys were not on a radically different scale. why ,because thankfully religion has receded in importance in the public square of the west.we must support the majority of muslims who dont want sharia law and a religion of violence ,as we must oppose those fundamentalist christians who want to bring that same kind of religious domination back to our society

It's too bad that Limpy wasn't watching the History Channel's special on Thomas Jefferson last night. He would have learned that Jefferson acted to protect America's free trade interests.

Jefferson did not go to war against Islam.

I just hope Limburger's history isn't re-written as him being sane, reasonable and intelligent. I hope TJ's ghost chokes him tonight!

It will be a change of pace - I'm sure Rush normally spends his nights when he's not in the Dominican Republic choking his chicken......

Blimpy is just giving us a lesson in Binary Thinking. See, unlike the typical Blimpy listener, Jefferson was smart enough to know that you can fight a particular group of Muslims without going to war with every Muslim

      It seems so simple...

Or as Soze says, he proclaimed war against PIRATES not ISLAM! People, not religion. The PEOPLE

          damned Enter button....

So, as I was saying, The PEOPLE and what they were doing was the problem, not the religion! Jefferson isn't at all like the Reich--he doesn't declare war against ideas or religions or abstract nouns. He's smarter than that!

Right. There are bad actors in every group, every religion, every race. If all Muslims must bear the burden of 9/11, should all Christians bear the burdens of the Witch Trials, the Inquisition, Jim Jones and Pedophile Priests?

I know! And when I remind my Republican sisters, all they can say is, "Well.....wull, wool.....it's not the saaaammmeeee!"

But they can never figure out how it different.

              Because it's not.

Makes sense. We're talking about the same nutjobs that Mel Gibson caters to... And they clearly blame the jews for killing Jesus.

as a native virginian, i am offended by mr. limbaugh's abuse of mr. jefferson's memory. jefferson wasn't perfect, by any stretch, but he would be appalled at the thought of limbaugh using him to justify national stupidity.

if this were a just world, limbaugh would be dragged to monticello, and strangled with a grape vine.
