That caller's voice sounds really familiar! But I can't figure out why he'd want to prank Limbaugh like that, unless it was simply to be able to say to him on his own radio show, "you're either imcompetent, lazy, or a liar." Is anybody thinking what I'm thinking?

The voice didn't sound familiar to me, I was just amazed at the guys ability to stretch a 10 second anecdote over both sides of a commercial break.

Of course, the slow-talking caller was helped along with Blimpy's " Grandpa Simpson Onion-on-a-belt" White House story.

Yeah, I listened to it this morning, but for the same reason I listen to Abe Simpson's tales; they're long and boring, don't go anywhere, and send me into uncontrollable laughter at their idiocy .

Actually it is just Rush's usual swill. But on second thought, he has become an uncontrolled racist in that he constantly spouts his racist garbage every chance he gets. He is simply going bonkers to see a competant "black" president that is able to outthink Rush on every issue. Poor Rush is liable to have a heart attack, he gets so riled up about Obama being such a successful President. With Rush's weight, he needs to worry about his appoplectic rage giving him a heart attack.

Well, my good friend in grade school was black. She was the daughter of our local post master. She came from a great family with enough money to buy and sell my family a hundred times over. But still, she was kind enough to be my friend. Rush's hate filled racism makes me cringe because my friend had more class in her little finger than Rush, the blubber guy has in all his girth. He just seems soulless.

I didn't realize all of us african americans ended sentences with the phrase "yo". Why is it everytime he generalizes about blacks he uses this ignorant ebonic-type slang? Oh yeah that's right. Because he's a racist pig. But since I called him racist, I'm the real racist now.

I'm white and have known a lot of African-Americans both on the job and socially. I honestly can't remember any one of them who ever talked like that. Kinda of reminds me of that scene in Hollywood Shuffle where Robert Townsend (who is African-American) is told how to "talk" like an "African-American" and looks confused.

And I don't want to dis SEMSU; I'm sure plenty of people have gotten good education there (people who applied themselves, who were interested in more than the sound of their own suspiciously mincing voices echoing within their melon-like craniums).

But someone who couldn't hack it there has no business sliming the education of someone who successfully completed Columbia and Harvard.

Nor is the U. of Chicago in the habit of hiring people who don't know what they're talking about, for that matter.

Actually besides graduating from a law school, Obama had to take the Bar Exam. My husband is a lawyer and believe me, the bar exam is no picnic. But remember that Rush is a college drop out so he is insanely jealous of those who did tough it out and graduated from college. Poor Rush just had no grit to finish college. So he makes up for it with tons of bluster and blow-hard hateful statements.

there are people who believe that out there . they not only believe that minorities get entitlements but that they get preference on their grades.one conservative writer who opposed affirmative action did make the point that some minorities were getting into the ivy league and other top schools through affirmative action and then were struggling. his point was that these kids would have excelled at many fine state or public universities but didnt have the stuff to thrive in the upper strata of education. i am not here to debate his theory but just to say his research totally contradicts rush lie that obama or any other minority had their grades inflated at harvard or anywhere else.

That's a good chunk of right wing radio, the hosts telling their empty vessels "what the left thinks".

I know a lot of people who claim to be "libs", but I'm starting to doubt them on this. They don't seem to believe any of the wild and crazy stuff that Rush, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved or Sean Hannity tell me "the left believes".

I was lucky enough to have caught this Blimpy Bit this morning, and it just convinces me more that racists like Rush are more ignorant than hateful.

People who are aware of their prejudices try to keep them under wraps, but idiots like Rush are just unaware enough to do "commentary" on the subjects where they'd be a lot better off doing some listening.

I remember when Rush first became popular and the dittoheads in my family started telling me, a liberal, what I believed in. Their assumptions were nonsense, of course, based on the arbitrary definitions from Rushbo. When I'd argue with them, they'd smirk. "See? Just like a liberal -- won't own up to her beliefs."

I get it from people at work, they want to "debate", but only on the condition that they get to do my side , too.

A lot of the right wing posters at this site depend pretty heavily on the strawman as well. I've seen more than one going for the trusty " Librul Hipocricy!" angle on the NY Muslim Center topic, basing it on the "fact" that liberals are always protesting Christian community centers, or just hate Christianity in general.

Don't mind the liberals out there who point out the glaring hypocrisy of you taking a lavish vacation a mere two weeks after you lampooned Michelle Obama for having no idea what the common person is going through since she takes lavish vacations. LIAR. My parents, my siblings, and I would celebrate the Fourth of July every year, like most other families in America. I can remember that, even in the turbulent 1960s, the Fourth of July was a BFD for African Americans in my city. We'd pack up the old Country Squire wagon and head to the lake. Mom would prepare the fried chicken, potato salad, and other goodies ahead of time. My dad would grill the hamburgers and hotdogs at the lake. We kids would man the old style crank ice cream maker. My grandmother and grandfather, who lived next door to us, would go with us, and my grandmother would always prepare some of her specialties like pecan pie and deviled eggs.

Once again, this proves that Limpy doesn't know enough about AAs to speak about us on any subject.

P.S. And Limpy, my parents didn't like their kids using slang words when we spoke on any subject.

It was a big deal to me when I was a kid but as I got older I started to see how it wasn't a big deal to many of us. After reading Frederick Douglas' writing on the matter. It IS a BFD to people like Rush so that makes me wonder if I should make a BFD about it. Many of my ancestors weren't free after the revolutionary war so it is kinda hypocritical for me to celebrate it with all out gusto. Rush is part of the problem as to why many of us don't care about July 4th. Ifthis country celebrates bigots and they epitomize patriotism why would any of us want any part of that?

There were six of us, too {parents and four boys}, and, while we didn't have a Country Squire wagon, I have fond memories of going to the New York World's Fair in our red and white '61 Biscayne {mentioning your car put me in mind of that . . .]

Since most people immigrated here after the revolutionary war, using his logic then, most people wouldn't think that the holiday was a big deal, or am I missing his point. Maybe a better thing to say is since women also didn't get the right to vote until long after the revolutionary war, and come to think of it even most white males as well as African Americans, then we shouldn't care much about the 4th of July either? That's it from now on I'm celebrating independence day on the 18th of August, in remembrance of the day that I was given the right to vote.
