I wish you'd extend it to include the reaction.
Now which one's Glenda?
Then the others must be "people [who] follow this guy"
As Bill Maher said not long ago: "America is a stupid country".
I'm reluctant to accept it, but the fact that the Republicans may be voted back into power, so soon after they almost wrecked the country... pretty much confirms it.
AKA Suicide cults?
I know a fair number of wealthy corporate execs who funded (big time) and worked as rainmakers for Romney's disasterous 2008 primary campaign. They're members of the oligarchy. These people find Beck too disgusting for words. Many of the women were willing to hold their noses at Palin (I literally was stunned), but if Beck were to be on the same stage introducing Romney in 2012 these highly educated, highly competent - and mostly non-Christian - people will literally run the other way. They don't see Beck as a performer, merely deranged.
They would have to believe that the Kochs will put $500 million behind Romney and another $500 million into FauxNoise and astroturf groups before they'd put their time into it. But then they're members of the oligarchy, and their actions in opposition to the good of the country during the Dubya years constantly shocked me.
Simple Sarah can't admit it in public, but there's a very high probability that she thinks Glenn Beck is doomed to hell. Of course, if you dangle money in front of her face, she'll appear on stage with anyone.
I, also, couldn't stand that smug smile on Kristol's face as Williams was talking.
To be sure, the economy sucks. The do-nothing side of the political aisle isn't about to say yes to anything that might fix it before 2013. But FauxNoise and their talk radio fellow travelers (I've been waiting 50 years to get to use that) sure don't have a clue about the sources of the problem or the need for long term solutions. ACORN and the CRA did not cause or even contribute to the mortgage meltdown - it was CDOs, CDSs and falsified MBSs.
Freaking "grass roots conservative" in a billionaire's eye. Thanks to Jane Mayer people know the Kochs, I've known about them for over a decade as they fund lots of science and medicine in addition to their Fifth Columnists at the Cato Institute (sic).
