Please don't insult the loons! :-)
"No, actually, those were geese. They were freaking geese. You'll know it's Me showing up when you see my Escalade in the parking lot."
That was close!
For two days now, I've been on pins and needles waiting to see what "miracle" went down that everybody else in the world failed to experience.
Thank God for Rent-a-Goose!
For the crowd's sake, I sure hope they weren't too well fed before they were released.
Miraculous? Well, I have my doubts, but I certainly understand why Glenn would identify with them.
They live in Richmond which is about 100 miles from D.C.
Imagine that! Geese flying over water!! Believe it-----or not!
While Beck is crying, yeh, yeh . . .
And freedom of religion is dying, yeh, yeh . . .
Okay, a lyrist I am not. :)
I think I already mentioned it here before, so I won't go into redundant detail, but I had a recent conversation regarding the number of Americans who, according to a poll, believe in angels.
The believer told me she saw "too much evidence", like nearly getting into car accidents, but not getting into a crash.
Pitiful man, just plain pitiful.
My thought exactly!
But, never fear; Beck's zombies will nod and drool... they'll say "Yeah... I felt a tingle when those geese flew over! Praise Jeeeezzzzzuuuussssss for sending those geese!"
:-)
"Never stare at a flight of geese with an open mouth."
This is just throw-up-your-hands-and-back-away-from-the-table stupid.
it's such a joy to see the left getting their panties in a bunch over the success of this rally... desperately gripping for anything to disparage it: the crowd size, the religious theme, his hijacking of the civil rights movement, and the hate-filled rhetoric that wasn't...
perhaps you all can at least take solace in the fact that beck has now usurped the antichrist mantle from obama, so at least you got that going for you...

That's not a huge success that's just a rock concert. It's a meme, with no clear message, no lasting significance. The tax day protests against the stimulus were far more significant. As an outsider to the US looking in, having a Mormon shock jock DJ backing Evangelical groups decrying a duly elected president who is a Christian as being a Kenyan Muslim Commie-Fasci-Marxi-Socialist... Well that's just plain crazy.
Again, it's barely newsworthy. If Willy Nelson offered a free concert in the same location he'd get a similar crowd of similar size, if not bigger.
But whatever, you're free to believe whatever you want. However, others are free to believe otherwise. It is a matter of opinion after all.
that's rather kind considering most here feel he's a racist homophobe who drinks dolphin blood from a panda skull...
"Kenyan Muslim Commie-Fasci-Marxi-Socialist"
you forgot nazi, but fascist will suffice...
i have not and will not make a case for the substance of the presentation, nor for beck's mental condition...
the debate over attendance will continue for some time... 80-90k is cbs's count based on the report from the service they hired, on what they felt was the peak attendance at noon... but even if the figures are that low it was an unqualified success, particularly after all the naysayers weighed in saying he wouldn't draw sh!t...
i would also submit that anytime that amount of people show up in one place not normally used as a venue it certainly is newsworthy, regardless of the event... cbs thought so, although i suspect the reason they hired the aerial service was to belittle the event as best they could...
the mainstream media on tv is simply stunned at this development... all they have left now is to decry those attending as lily white, which is quite hypocritical based on the fact the people they have as the face of their networks are all white...
My favorite line of yours:
i have not and will not make a case for the substance of the presentation, nor for beck's mental condition...
lol. It would also expose your hand wouldn't it. I mean kooks drawing a crowd is nothing new. People have bought into demogogues before so what are you saying?
so what am i saying?... mmfa is desperately gripping for anything to disparage beck... the miracle geese observation is weak because there are probably more substantive issues to to take beck to task over, yet mmfa piles on at the most benign things concerning conservative media... they'd be somewhat respectable if they chose their battles more wisely, but i guess they feel they have the need to create voluminous content at this site... kinda takes the air out of the whole conservatives are evil thing...
Funny though it was important enough for Beck to raise it and amazing that people would believe it. It's a free country and this was a good article by MMFA highlighting the lunacy of Glenn Beck and those who listen to his nonsense.
Well, I'll maintain, that it's crazy talk this talk of god and railing against the current president on what is now holy grounds is just asinine and irrelevant, religion isn't a qualifier for public office nor should it.
I looked at other aerial photos compared to photos of concerts (where people will pack in far tighter close to the stage than a rally) and I think the estimate is fair. Especially since the tax day protests were clearly larger. I looked at those photos over and over again the tax day protests were clearly about 3 times larger if not more. To me that shows the limit in Beck's popularity especially when he goes puts on a political (oh I mean a charitable) rally that was promoted as something much like the second coming.
Media isn't stunned they're underwhelmed. There was no story. If Dick Morris sucked some toes on stage or Palin quit halfway through her speech or Beck screamed like a girl "Get off my stage!" maybe someone would have noticed but instead it was a fat load of nothing. The numbers don't mean squat if you hold superbowl in Pasadena you get a bigger crowd. I think even NCAA can draw 70+K for a bigger game. The crowd isn't that big a deal for major metropolitan area especially on the east coast. I just don't think it's of significance.
as for the media, they were definitely stunned... it was all too apparent as they gripped for any criticism they could latch onto...
Beck saying the geese flyover was a sign from God is absurd as me saying God is guiding my typing hands to write this post. lol.
since you're so fearful, here's something even you can understand:
be afraid... be very afraid...
Regarding, the level of interest for 80,000 people at a non-political rally is not even close to newsworthy. It was a non-political religious charity event that spent a lot of time behaving like a political rally.
They were stunned? Yeah, stunned that they would have potentially wasted time reporting this story. Heck even with the online crowd watching it's still only 300 thousand. That's 1/1000 of the US population. I just don't see that as being remotely significant.
Sounds like democracy in action.
That's not a great anything. It was nothing more than a rock concert. The tax day protests were documented as being BIGGER by best estimate a factor of 3 and even that group calmed down over time. This is far less significant and way less successful despite the endless promotion by Beck.
99% percent of what leftists find important? Ok, smarty quantify it. Show me a list of the 100+ things "leftists" hold important and then tell me out of that the 1% Americans agree with and the poll that supports it.
Face it, you came here to rant.
Of course, if salg really did write this and really believes it, then it stops being funny, only sad.
What is a miracle is that a former cocaine addict and failed disc jockey ever made it so far into the American media. Well, maybe Jimmy Swaggert is comparable.
I've known other folks like this.. they didn't have their own tv/radio shows but they did have a team of mental health professionals trying to help them. Some made it through, some are still struggling. I'm afraid the prognosis might not be good for Mr Beck.
The sound of a toilet flushing from another room as you turn the channel to the Glenn Beck Show? Miracle.
A black cat running through your front yard as Glenn Beck starts yammering about his latest conspiracy theory? Miracle.
Exercising free will to turn off the television because Glenn Beck is an ignorant little man who panders fear and hatred? Miracle!
