Go back to the Depression and stay there, you dope. You're the worst thing to come out of the DFW Metroplex since Lee Harvey Oswald.

Actually if he was successful (how is beyond me) he might cease to exist completely. His parents, stuck in a perpetual depression, might seek the services of some back ally abortionist and little Marky just would fade away. But if he was able to avoid this fate the Time Tunnel project would likely never be developed (it was a govt project, I think) and Davis would indeed be stuck in the depression era.

Ah, so the side that's gonna fix things is giving us solutions that rely on their finding a "time tunnel".

The New Deal enabled many Americans to join the middle class. People found jobs, children were educated, seniors had retirement income and workers were given some rights. Because of FDR's New Deal and organized labor, the middle class grew and everyone had the opportunity to better themselves and their family.

Today, because of the policies that this slug and his overlord supported, the middle class has been decimated. Americans are watching helplessly as their kids struggle to attain the standard of living their parents enjoyed.

Today we're being told that the government programs that enabled us all to go to college, buy homes and retire with dignity, are the reason the economy is in free fall.

It's a scam. The right has once again convinced us to work against our own interests and allow even more of America's wealth to disappear up the ladder to those who've already received more than their share of the American Dream.

Most of the New Deal programs backfired. The recurring theme was hurting one segment of the population at the expense of others. If it was go great, why did it take us 10 years to get out of? I do think the social programs were positive, but not the bulk of the economic policies.

Let see...Destroying agricultural products while millions were starving on the streets in order to help farmers. Enacting an undistributed profits tax while at the same time raising income taxes, which discouraged individuals to start new businesses. The Tennesse Valley Authortity. The failed attempts to control the price of gold and banning the possesion of gold. The lack of improvement in the unemployment rate, which stayed in the teens through out the 30's. Continuing the same protectionist policies under Hoover. Very, very inefficient and pricey government projects that could have been built better by private companies. The political motivations behind the disbusement of money in the public works programs, with a disproportionate amount of money going to the West.

What a dumba$$. This is what angers me about these NEOCON NUTJOBS.They are lying about F.D.R. and the NEW DEAL. They hate any GOVT. attempt to help the less fortunate. The NEW DEAL was not perfect but it gave hope where there was despair, and it helped Unemployment in 1932,25% in 1936 12%. T he NEW DEAL put a lot of unemployed people back to work and for these RIGHT WINGERS to lie about it as they have been is despicable.
