Horowitz has been shoveling this trash for years. Had he and those like Hannity their way, every professor in America would have to pass "loyalty tests" (and mandatory donations to the RNC) before darkening a campus.

And for the record, I encountered one or two arch-lefty instructors during my own college days, but simply tuned them out when their opinions got too loud. But then again, colleges are traditionally a liberal environment so this sort of thing wasn't a shock. In fact, the vast majority of my teachers stuck to the subject matter at hand, and left their politics outside.

Most of my professors have been unwilling to discuss politics in the classroom. Did have one hard right prof, though, who wasn't at all bashful with his opinions. This is merely anecdotal evidence, however, and as worthless as it is, it is still more evidence than Horowitz has provided to back up his slander of people who, as a group, work much harder for much less pay than he does.

Since he has stated that there isn't even a question about his assertion, it is clear that Mr. Horowitz is in fact a fascist.

This reminds me of Barney's claim that he was tricked into protesting the Vietnam War by a commie professor.

These people are so jealous of anyone with an education it's sad. No evidence or nothing, they just throw out a claim. These people are disgusting trash.

It's 1954 all over again, with Universities portrayed as Ivory Towers populated by Pointy-Headed Intellectuals dedicated to turning Our Innocent Children into Egghead Communist Elites who Question Their Parents and Embrace World Government after Rejecting Western Culture and American Exceptionalism. Wow, we've come so far in the last half-century, haven't we?

I didn't grow up in the 50's, but a lot of people describe the 50's in the same manner that you do, jjamele. During the 40's, it was the intellectuals who helped win WWII. The price of war is terrible, but the engineers during WWII were extremely brilliant and revolutionized so many things like radar, which eventually gave us the microwave. Then the 50's came, attitudes changed, and the intellectuals were mocked and ridiculed.

I did attend school in the 80's, in a suburb, and that decade/area was also not a great time to be an intellectual. The kids that always mocked school and education probably learned their anti-intellectual attitudes from their parents. Math, science, chess, and jazz were not cool. Thank God for shows like The Cosby Show because it provided an appreciation for the aforementioned intellectual pursuits.

I wish this nation would adopt the same attitude as other countries in regards to appreciating the value of an education.

My first thought, why would a professor recruit for the radically stupid republican party? I guess it could happen. We are living in the dark Palin era.

Horiwitz is so pathetic. He underestimates the students ability to think. Probably many of these students never heard the liberal side of the argument, either.

What was funny tho was Hannity talking about his college experience. He acted like he couldn't get a good grade because he questioned the professor.

I won't mention who else in history went after the intellectuals right before they instituted a totalitarian fascist government. Academia is always the enemy of any form of totalitarianism. An ignorant under-educated public is absolutely essential to its survival.

A while ago, Horowitz was invited to the University of Wisconsin. During the Q&A part, a young lady asked Horowitz a question that was a bit tough and put him on the spot. He slyly accused her of being anti-American. She responded with, "Don't talk to me like that, I'm not an idiot." The crowd responded with heavy applause and he just stood there looking like the moron that he is. If folks want to read good stories about how dangerous this fool is go to www.counterpunch.org and read the stuff about him. Just punch in his name in the search area and a bunch of articles will come up.
