      Wow. Says the elitist, huh? And the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy helped me out how? But I do know that healthcare will, and the credit card bill will, and the infrastructure will, and saving Social Security will. I think he's got us "in his crosshairs" because he's "aiming" to fix what Bush did to us.

      And for that, I'm happy.

        Litwiz,

        You make some very good points regarding the way the tax breaks for the wealthy hurt the middle class. I worked past the 30 year retirement period in order to have a decent retirement income, and I get the republican message very well: The middle class workers are the drones who should work until we drop dead on the job, we should be forced to pay the costs for their tax cuts, and we should be satisfied with an even smaller share of America's wealth than we already have.

      It's not resentment, Rush. The question is how to pay for the government services that the public demands. Or at least to make a start at it.

      Here is the translation, in brief, of Rush's rant: "PLEASE, PLEASE, whatever you do, do not raise my taxes!!!"

        Since the day he was born, Limpy hasn't had anything in common with the middle class. I recall reading his bio a couple years ago, and he hails from a family of well-to do lawyers and judges. Why he is so angry about the child of a single parent fulfilling the American Dream is anybody's guess, but I'm thinking it has something to do with race. In Limpy's mind certain people have their "place" in this society, and they should never rise above it. I'm so glad Limpy didn't have a kid in my class because he would have tried to indict me for teaching U.S. History while being AA. He probably would have moved his kid into a white teacher's classroom. That did happen to me a few times.

      thats right, the middle class is in the crosshairs. thats because it is the targeted demographic that this administration is trying to expand. it's time to let the struggling rich folk fend for themselves and target all initiatives directly to the lower and middle class people of this country. it's small business that creates jobs. and small business is the middle class. i have never been hired by a rich guy, only by middle class small business owners.

      Oh shut up, you big crybaby. If you really cared about the middle class, you wouldn't have supported the policies of Reagan and Bush that all but obliterated it. You would also not berate everyone -- except for CEOs and GOP operatives -- when they ask to make a living wage.

          The reason seaskank isn't worried is because the rw media hasn't told him to be worried about it yet, and they won't, because they're not members of the middle class. They have to use him to help them keep their tax cuts first, and when seaskank finally wakes up in 5-6 years and realizes he's been skewered and roasted by them, he'll be up in arms, expecting them to help him, but they won't do it, because by that time they'll have moved on to their next campaign to snatch even more of his income out of his hands.

        There isn't one now, squawks. It pretty much disappeared during the last administration. I'll just bet you weren't b*tching about it then, though, because you thought it wasn't the "conservative" thing to do . . . you're wrong.

        "The U.S. has the 3rd highest inequality and poverty among nations studied, and the gap has increased rapidly since 2000." This article is from 2008. Who was President then, squawks?

        Seahawks every time call the President of the United States the Anointed One you are disrespecting Jesus, The office of the President of the United States, every other American citizen and finally yourself.

        If the GOP really cared about the United States citizenry then they would work with the President doing what history shows works. However they are so in bed with the greed corporate leaders that they cannot or will not truly care for their own constituents and allow people like you to go against your own best interests.

              BTW, squawks, I see you didn't respond to the fact that the middle class all but disappeared between 2000-2008. Just hitting the thumbs down button doesn't cut it. As I said, if you were truly a conservative, you would have been FURIOUS with the Bush administration . . . why weren't you? Are you just one of those followers who thinks that as long as the right letter is in the ( ) whatever your elected leaders do is just hunkey-dory? Doesn't matter if they are truly conservative . . . they just have the right letter behind their names.

      I love how he completely turns the facts on their head and says Obama is going after the middle class when, in reality, he is helping them. If anything, it's el fathead who hates the middle class and short changes them with lies day after day.
