40 days and 40 nights is a book by Matthew Chapman and deals with Darwinism,Oxycontin and other things that may be related to what Elmer is saying.

So, does this mean that sometime around the middle of October, Glennie is going to do something or does he figure that his audience will have forgotten like he has? I'm hoping he'll finally poo or get off the pot, he wants to call for a rebellion to "restore the Constitution" or to have himself proclaimed the nation's savior and carried into power. But does he have the chutzpah?

You may very well be right about that. I'm really quite bored with his tent revival scam.

That's about when his book will come out. The current scheduled release date is 10/20 I think.

And so, since his book wasn't going to be ready for the 8/28 rally, and since the National Park Service apparently wouldn't give him a permit for a rally that was basically a book release party, he dropped the book release idea shortly after he floated that idea last November.

But it was a way to promote the timeframe when the book WILL be released without making it a book release rally that would violate the permit that he did get from the NPS.

And guess what the new book's name will be? "Broke: The Plan to Restore Our Trust, Truth and Treasure."

And remember what his rally was called? Restoring Honor"

Not a coincidence. It wasn't a book release rally. It was simply an appetizer to whet the appetite.

I've read, studied, and taught about the Declaration of Independence, and I've never seen a reference to "40 days and 40 nights" in it, but I have read about Jesus being tempted by the devil for "40 days and 40" nights.

Glenda can't embrace what he doesn't understand, he can't teach anyone else about it, and anyone who takes "lessons" from him should be skeptical about his ability to teach the subject.

40 days/nights is also the length of The Flood.

BTW, John, thanks for pointing out my mistaken use of "re-elect" when referring to Jan Brewer. I was aware that she'd been appointed, not elected, but I was so taken with my little joke that I lost my head. I didn't catch your correction until after comments had closed.

No problem, it's one of those cases where I hear "re-elect" in news reports, and just remember my voting for Napolitano for the job.
Also, references to the 'Ground Zero Mosque' and other standard errors that get repeated.

Although 40 days and 40 nights is the length of time that rain fell in the flood myth, I think Beck sees himself as Moses--leading the people away from sin and degradation into the promised land, taking them away from false idols, and going down in history as one of the great leaders of the American People, right up there with Washington, Lincoln, and George Lincoln Rockwell.

Well, according to the Bible, Jesus also spent 40 days fasting in the desert and rejecting Satan's temptations. I think Beck's ego's gotten so out of control that he's thinking he's the Second Coming (minus the fasting and self-sacrifice, of course). I'll grant him the "rough beast," but wherever he's "slouching to," it's not "Bethlehem, to be born."

Why does Beck want to "fundamentally transform America?" When Obama said he wanted to transform America, the likes of Beck and Palin jumped all over it as a deeply troubling statement that America was imperfect and therefore bad. Why does Beck hate America?
