Schoolteachers live off the excesses of stockbrokers? So stockbrokers are just seeding the world with excess money? Where do I have to go to get me some of that?

The violence has come mostly from the police violating the protesters' 1st Amendment rights. So, no, the message is not lost with the violence. Every time the police confiscate their generators or shoot someone with pepper spray, the message is amplified.

SO stockbrokers put their excess money into a special account that pays the teachers? and there I was thinking our taxes paid for teachers. And if there is no such thing as income inequality how come I'm not earning as much as a guy sitting on his arse all day trading stocks?

All you that are unemployed...just go get a job, just got make a million dollars. Nothing is stopping you.

Income inequality is alive and well. The playing field needs to be evened. Even if 90% of the ultra rich yearly income was taken in taxes they would still have more money than they would know what to do with.

      Greed is a terrible thing..

I love this line by them. It contrasts nicely with the other talking point that Obama has destroyed American jobs.

I love the smell of doublethink in the morning.

You mean all those uneducated stock brokers & capitalists? Here we go again - the same old argy bargy "trickle down economics" argument. What a lot of bunk - the last time I saw "trickle down economics" in action I had to change my Depends.

This just proves the republican lie that they care about the working people, they couldn't care less.

the whole "work hard, save your money and become rich" doesn't exist. I would be surprised if it ever did or was just another lie from the embryonic stages of what would today become corporite fascist FOXPAC teabagging dittoheads

My head's fixin' to explode. Love MMFA, but there's a high price to pay for coming to this site.

Instead of being angry that they and their corporate overlords wrecked the economy we should be kneeling at their feet and kissing their toes, I guess.

Actually many schools, and teachers pay are funded by people acting like, and hoping that they can be like Wall Street bankers in a casino where they win $millions even when they lose....The poor sm-uck whose gambled bill money pays for the schools gets farther behind on his bills.........Property taxes used to be the primary source of school funding. But Wall Street bankers own so many multi-million dollar tracts of valuable real estate all over the USA that their hired hands in state, and local governments have given tax exemptions..Now many school systems have to get a percentage of their district residents addicted to gambling to make up for the lost school funding

The truth of course is exactly the opposite. No wealth is EVER created by buying and selling. NONE. That is econ 101. Thus stockbrokers contribute NOTHING but take more than their share. They are economic parasites by definition while teachers DO contribute by educating future workers. It is stockbrokers and capitalists the live off of the excess wealth created by workers not the other way around.

Oh quit trying to argue logically! Stockbrokers are high priests of the sacred Free Markets, and corporations are people entitled to all the Free Speech that their billions can buy them! Teachers are just parasites on the people, living off of stolen tax money as wages. <SNARK>

well, lets say we get rid of teachers and professors. Save a lot of money but within one generation, we will have a banana republic, servants and beggars lining our streets. No NASA, no think tanks, no Universities, total regression to a long forgotten horse era. And by the way, [b][b], a couple night ago, reported the OWS people as " anti- capitalists ", a total lie by a foreign enterprise in a land that houses subjects to an old queen.

what a self-centered and awful thing to say. Everybody who pays taxes pays for teachers, which is an investment in our future—probably with the exception of stockbrokers, who the system unfairly favors, and who (if they have their wits about them) probably don't pay any taxes. Try again you miserable PoS!

Fox News has clearly accomplished it's primary goal of mainstreaming the voice of the radical demonstrably untrue and hateful right wing talk radio set. The fact that Tony Katz has an audience anywhere is astounding and the words leaping forth from his mouth are at the very least ill researched if not malicious lies. Why is he relevant to this conversation? Oh... he's a talk radio host he must know what he's talking about.
