The day after Bill Clinton's re-election, Limbaugh comes on and blames his listeners for not keeping focused.
Oh, wait, she's not a Republican. carry on.
Kind of like, oh, I don't know, Newt the other night. When he accussed Obama of being the all time leader in food stamps as a President, while dissing the people who are receiving them, because chances are good, they or their families would go, you know, hungry if they didn't have them.
I remember someone named Limbaugh and others cheering that little bit of stupid rhetoric from Newt.
Who is letting them eat cake again? It can't be Obama, or his wife (not that she has charge over those things anyway, but I digress). Is Obama providing massive food stamps, or is he telling the poor to get lost?
Seems kind of like the other way around.
It was about Mitten's remarks that his several hundred thousand in speaking fees was "not much". Of course, the joks are not about any problem with him making the money, it's about being so out of touch.
So Lispy gets one of his lackeys to look up the speaking fees and salaries of some people he considers "liberals", none of whom had referred to their earnings as "not much". He actually thought he was making a point.
He really is blessed with the stoopidest audience on earth. Which reminds me, is donutluvver making good on his New year's resolution to avoid getting his azz kicked so much here ? I miss seeing him try to defend his BF Rush.
Like you stated, hypocrisy to them is a liberal who makes a lot of money for giving speeches. But, said liberal never said he/she weren't making good coin doing it. And as far as I heard, the folks he listed probably haven't said anything about Romney's little "slip up".
This is like how when John Edwards was working to help get people out of poverty and to bring them up in society, according to republicans, that was hypocrisy, because he was rich.
Yeah, I don't get it either.
I heard some of the same type of thing yesterday over on HuffPo from morons on our side of the fence. There was an article about how Santorum's now wife, once dated a doctor who had performed abortions. First they cried hypocrisy! I asked them why? Because she's against abortion, but dated a doctor that had performed abortions. Umm, no folks. She would be a hypocrite if she said she never dated doctors (regardless of what they had done) and THEN dated the guy.
That being said, I was chastised for being in Rick's pocket, and not knowing how that was hypocritical.
Several years ago, before I was really visiting website comment forums, where the word is thrown around a lot, I heard Hannity trying to use it. It was in reference to Bill and Hillary Clinton having different opinions on a subject. Hannity actually seemed to think that two people, because they're married or in the same political party, disagreeing was somehow hypocritical.
The stumbling block for internet wingnuts seems to be this; they think that because they can't see the difference between two very different things, anybody who can is a hypocrite.
Sorry for the broken post.
Thanks man.
J/K. I have done worse, I know.
He pulls a heavy load...
My apologies to Mrs. Obama
Perfectly straight hair. Blindingly white teeth. Stupid smile 24/7.
I don't get the plastic helmet hair at all. It's so harsh that it isn't attractive.
Hair? I thought it was a helmet.
Giving an interview AND looking human? Sounds like one'a'dem librul dummycraps.
Its come down to Stupid or Evil. Im giving him benefit of the doubt. when benefit of the doubt = complete and utter moron, that person has a problem.
Because you're not hangin' with the 1%, in those "quiet rooms".
El Mushbo, Tubbs and Jabba the Butt.
I mean, I'm thinking it's because she's the queen of France and it's 1789, but I could be wrong, so it'd be nice if Rusty confirmed my suspicions.
In what universe did the RW media ignore John Kerry's wealth and constantly accuse him of being out of touch with the working class while portraying Bush as a hard working brush clearer.
Locked her in the bunker just like Eric locked away Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Most people have more class and intelligence.
Yes, because you and your ilk are so relentless and absolute in your crusade to demonize and vilify everything connected to President Obama and his administration.
Michelle Obama is quite simply a lovely and graceful woman who has done nothing but fill her ceremonial duties as the first lady in traditional and ultimately productive ways. She had consciously made the decision to remain out of politics... and all that means absolutely nothing to Limbaugh and his peers.
Yes, Rush, they call her that because you and your fellow paid character assassins could not come up with any legitimate criticisms or attacks. You call her that because it plays into long held stereotypes of "uppity" black people. You call her that because you want to rile up the haters and the racists in your base, you want to throw them red meat and validate their ignorance. You and your fellow smear merchants call her that because your job is to demonize anyone and everyone associated with the Obama administration.
Unfortunately for you, Mr. Rush Limbaugh, people call you an arrogant racist liar because you have an enormous ego and a long record of engaging in race baiting, character assassination, and peddling disinformation.
See, I can do it too. There's a reason people call Rush a fat, sexist, racist, homophibic, corporate shill.
Rush's use of the term "Michelle Antoinette" for the First Lady is what we would call a "faulty syllogism." Calling Rush a decent human being doesn't mean he is one, just like calling Michelle Obama "Michelle Antoinette" doesn't make her casually ignorant to the plight of the common person. In fact, she's bound to have a better understanding of such things than Rush, if for no other reason than the fact that it's Rush.
Rush isn't the only one, the lack of respect is everywhere

The reason I checked that link is I recognized the name, I stumbled on it and posted a comment last spring. It's a birther site, and I was quickly bounced off the comments, but I still get the occasional email telling me that I have a reply. They know I'm being blocked, but they keep trying to taunt me as if I'm there.
Barbara Bush? Left alone
Hillary Clinton? Viciously attacked as an angry woman
-Chelsea Clinton? A certain senator called her the White House dog
Laura Bush? Left alone
-Bush twins? Left alone despite Jenna's underage drinking bust
Michelle Obama? Crucified as an angry black woman
-Malia and Sasha? Ridiculed on Fox News by the idiot with the chalkboard
Anyone see a pattern here?
Just more proof that the liberal media myth is just that: a myth.
Like Andy Kriess brought up earlier, Rick Santorum has apparently been weathering such personal attacks against his family, but no one can seem to place when or where or what these attacks were all about.
It's kind of like the film "Total Recall" over on Fox news, and the Fox viewers now can't even determine which menories are real, and which were just implanted there by Fox news.
That was actually our pal Limbaugh who did it on national TV. It takes balls of steel to make fun of a teenager who hasn't done anything to you in national tv.
Back in the day, I though he hated Hillary becuase she was kind of acting like the Dick Cheney of First Ladies. (OK - a Democratic one.)
But now? I just think he has a problem strong women who say anything he doesn't tell them to. And that's it. Nothing more.
Pathetic really.
