I love this part of the Cornell report:

"In this context, it is also important to consider that almost all of the jobs (direct, indirect and induced) associated with Keystone XL will, of course, also be temporary. The operating costs for KXL are very minimal, and based on the figures provided by TransCanada for the Canadian section of the pipeline, the new permanent US pipeline jobs in the US number as few as 50."

            Fifty. Not fifty-thousand. Fifty.

Of course, if the president OKed the pipeline, every single American would get a job as a boss working on it, and he would no longer control us with his food stamp-dependency scheme.*

        * Not too far off from many comments I've seen at other sites.

It is "shameful" how Republicans "turn-around" everything Pres. Obama does into sleaze talking points based on their what-ifs scenarios. Republicans ALWAYS weave in words of maybes and what-ifs to slam things that Pres. Obama have "NEVER" done.

The mis-informed Viewers at FoxNews still don't get this brilliant Republican Game of 'Wipe-out'. They just once again become programmed to dimiss ANY and ALL good things done by Pres. Obama, LOL.

Yeap, just one more "good" thing completed by Pres. Obama "wiped-out" by Republicans in made-ups, LOL. Wink, wink.

This is a perfect example of the Republicans are against any proposal Obama is in favor of and the ludicrous results which occur as a result of this policy. Trans-Canada's first proposed route across Nebraska was the shortest route possible despite wide, bi-partisan opposition to this route because it was being built right across the Ogallala aquifer. This route was subject to approval by our State Department because it crossed an international border. Everyone in Nebraska was confident this route would be rejected. However, our State Department considers Nebraska "fly over" country and ignored the opposition and approved the route. This set off fireworks here in Nebraska. Our Republican governor called a special session of our Republican controlled legislature to pass a law requiring state approval of the route. Additionally, our representatives in Washington (4 out of 5 are Republicans), voiced their disapproval of the route. All of a sudden, Trans-Canada saw the handwriting on the wall and announced they were changing the route. Genius, simply genius. They did not want to build it across an area which had in some areas only 5-10 feet separating the aquifer from the surface. So what does the orange Bonehead propose. He proposes to force the State Department to approve the route before it is submitted. That is right, folks. Even though Trans-Canada royally screwed up the first time, he thinks they deserve another bite of the apple. But this time there will be no review. Incredible. Talk about lunacy. It does not stop there. All of a sudden our Republican governor steps into the fray to play some Washington politics. He supports the 60 day deadline, even though the law which our legislature passed and he signed did not have a similar deadline. Why you might ask? Well, the answer is Obama was on one side of the issue, so he had to be on the other side. But it gets even better. Now we are being threatened by these idiots that Trans-Canada is going to build a pipeline across the Canadian Rockies. It is one thing to build a 2,000 mile pipeline which for the most part goes downhill. If they want to build it over one of the highest mountain ranges in the world before we have had a reasonable opportunity to approve the route because their company was too stupid and stubborn to listen to reason, be my guest.

Maybe Obama should be in favor of the pipeline. The Republican support for it would just disappear in record time.

They'd have had the Nebraska governor, Heineman, on Fox in a heartbeat to complain that Obama was threatening the Ogallala aquifer by allowing the pipeline.

Look, the thing is eventually going to be built, rerouted around the most environmentally sensitive areas, but still continuing to feed the United States' fossil fuel addiction and allowing big profits for that industry. All the rest of this is theatre.

Carlson is showing her indepence again in this cute little diatribe of hers disguised as interview questions, I guess. That's what some are saying, anyway. Make that most.

Obama is seeking legislation that would enable many more people to get permanent jobs but the Republicans are dithering and standing in the way of this. If Obama not (currently) approving the pipeline is evidence that he doesn't care about the pain of the unemployed, then what does this say about those that are standing in the way of gainful employment of millions?
