Wait...before the speech they complained that President Obama would make the SOTU address a campaign speech. Now they'te critical of the speech in a political context...that, for political purposes, Obama should have emphasized certain things better.

Bottom line...they don't know what to criticize him for anymore. Anything...everything?

There was very little in that speech that was controversial. I knew they would find plenty to complain about though.

It's good to see that Doocy is just as good as political commentary as he was doing the weather on the local (DC) Fox affiliate.

That is to say, he failed at both.

Fox "News" keeps underestimating Obama! They don't understand the man has depth! What records do any of the candidates have that oppose him? A lobbyist who is a serial adulterer? A millionaire corporate raider who will say anything he thinks will get him elected? And the rest who are even to crazy to think about. You can't spin this one!

I fervently hope that Newt wins the nomination. So far, this election has been more fun than any man ought to have, and I anticipate, what? Newt's self destructive melt-down? It's sure to come, I only hope it is in the middle of a Presidential Campaign. After the thorough thumping at the Polls that the GOP recieves under the esteemed leadership of the Georgian Historian, perhaps they will reclaim the party stolen from them by the Tea-Baggers, and the trickle-down devotees. Perhaps, but I doubt it. Stupidity and jingoism run too deep for any hope of an intelligent outcome, I'm afraid.

I don't. He should never be that close to the Presidency. Romney is bad, but he isn't walking, talking outright evil embodied in a single human being like Gingrich is.

The GOP field seems to have narrowed to Tweedle-Panderer and Tweedle-Panderest.

Unless you really look at it, and not just accept Fox's take on Obama's economic record.

In this person's opinion the fact that we have come so far in a single presidential term is nothing short of remarkable, and republicans are desperately trying to regain office before we start seeing real results that they cannot argue with. Then they will begin the process of claiming economic victory for themselves.

What occured before this President is immaterial, everytyhing that occurs during this President is his fault, and everything that occurs after this President will be entirely their doing.

      The GoP has no shame.

      Slightly off topic.

I now keep hearing how there are less jobs now then when Pres. Obama was ELECTED.

This is the new meme. Pres. Obama is not only to blame for the economic status now, but he is also to blame for the economic status from the day he was elected.

I am sure if that doesn't work, they will go back to when he was nominated. And if that doesn't work they will go back to...

They're scared. I mean look who they have to run against the President of the United States. A twice divorced multi millionaire lobbyist who would bring the first mistress to the White House or a multi Millionaire follower of the supernatural Mormon Church who is so stiff that he makes Obama look like Mark Twain by comparison.

These cynical conservative/Republicans are so blinded by their hate and opposition to the President that they don't see or understand how easy it will be for Obama to address and debate his economic record, in light of Mitch McConnel's statement that Republicans goal is to "make sure Obama is a one-term President". This is a two Party system that relies on compromise and negotiation in order to function like a democracy. Someone refused to do the job they were elected to do.
This is compelling arguement and defense, and it happens to be true. Speaking of "record", all of Republicans obstructionism is a matter of record. Think about it.

He should run on not being allowed to repeal Reaganomics by the Republican Congress, and promising to do it with a Democratic Congress.
