The most true thing she said was when she stood up against the bullying o'reilly was doing. I actually sent her a thank you email for that...While providing criticism for the rest of what she does, and saying that should she wish to continue defending those so attacked, we would continue to thank her.

        Alas...

Most of those who were responsible for the wild casino style derivatives trading that crashed our housing market ended up getting bailed out, and then paying themselves huge bonuses.

I don't want to be insulting because I think you are genuinely unaware of what's really going on, but once you get out from under that comfortable Fox news veil, you'll see why so many middle class people in this country are angry at the elite capitalist and investor class. These same people keep breaking the system and getting bailed out. Each time they get richer and richer, while we get poorer and our financial future becomes less secure.

Do a little research and you will see that those in the top one percent, especially the top .01%, have been steadily increasing their wealth as the middle class shrinks and drifts into more and more economic uncertainty.

I'm not talking about some vague Illuminati, this is all happening right in plain sight while we argue about birth certificates and second and third wives.

This isn't about "socialism", "punishing success", "wealth envy", "class warfare" or any of the other terms they create to distract Americans from the real processes at work. I don't care if you are a conservative or libertarian and I'm a liberal or progressive. This is about a system that has been taken over and gamed by a small group of greedy, and quite frankly, unpatriotic individuals.

Don't take my word for it, start by looking for some hard stats from independent sources. You are free to defend those top 1%, that's your right of course, but maybe when you realize what they're getting away with, and who pays for it, you might change your tune.

The Wall St Casino High Rollers did take a hit, but in end result it was a bit like stubbing your toe as opposed to having both legs amputated and being denied prostheses.

A stubbed toe may hurt like hell for a short time but causes nothing like the difficulty of losing both lower limbs and being denied the assistance to cope with the loss.

That one dude was not a democrat. No dem in their right mind would consider asking millionaire to pay an additional 3% in taxes, is "punishing them for success". He is a right wing tool spilling a right wing talking point.

This goes back to the constant "class warfare" cries from Faux. Why is it that "punishing" millionaires for success is warfare, but calling the unemployed, "unwashed lazy bums" and trying to take away their benefits, isn't?

Lets imagine a fictitous millionaire. He only made $950,000 and paid (lets just say for maths sake) 25% in fed state and Fica taxes in 2009. He Paid his taxes and was left with $712,500. Now in 2010, he made $1,100,000 because he worked overtime for a few weeks. Under the Punitive, punishing Obama tax law, he will only take home $822,000 after taxes. That additional $100,500. he earned and he only got to keep $72000 of it. Now where is the fairness in that? Where is the incentive to work overtime when you aren't allowed to keep all of it?
This millionaire may, in the words of Bill Oreilly) just pack it in. It's just not worth it to be a millionaire.....only $822,000 for a years work....its just not worth it anymore. I'm going to pack it in and move to Bora Bora and take up painting flowers.

It goes to a basic misunderstanding of a progressive tax system that people will claim, higher tax brackets are punishing the rich.

If this was true, our current tax code is punishing everyone who makes over $8700/y because the first $8701st dollar is taxed at 15% instead of 10%.

I do not think anybody feels penalized for making more than $8700/yr nor are they dissuaded to do so.

To say that people would not want to become millionaires because of a marginal 3% increase is just plain stupid.

And let's start with "Democrat" Doug Schoen who co-authored an op-ed asking Obama not to run in 2012.

"Douglas Schoen is an American political analyst, pollster, author, and commentator. He is a political analyst for Fox News. He partnered with political strategist Mark Penn and Michael Berland in the firm of Penn, Schoen & Berland. He believes that lower taxes would be a successful Democratic strategy, opposed President Obama's Affordable Care Act, warned the Democratic Party to reject the Occupy Wall Street protest, and recommended that President Obama not run for reelection in 2012."

        Wait just a minute.

What about Newt Gingrich? He's a small business owner, with his own little Mom and Pop consulting/historian business on K Street, and while his salary that he gets from his S corporation is only $252,000/year, his profits run to about $2.5 million because he works so damned hard at growing that business and creating jobs for hard-working flacks from all over K Street, all the way up and down that boulevard of American dreams.

How about him and Callista, huh? Do you want to demonize those two salt of the earth kids by raising their taxes a nickel?

        Well, I say no.

        No.

        I say HELL NO.

Let's get some dough from those lazy deadbeats who haven't had the work ethic to get paid enough to attract taxes under the law today. That will give them the incentive to work harder in order to get into lower tax brackets, and soon everybody will have so much in capital gains that we'll all be as rich as Croesus. Or maybe even Mitt Romney.

      I dunno....this sounded somewhat scripted & rehearsed.
But Fox is such a morally upright and principled News Organisation, I don't think that they would put out a scripted & rehearsed production as if it were a spontaneous question and answer session with pure-full-blooded Democrats and pure-full-blooded Republicans.
Naaaaaaa, they would not do that.
Which explains why they debuted this focus group panel of these Half Republican, Half Democrat chimeras that Roger Ailes created out on that Island of Dr. Ablow's .

But, Kelly sure is great at the whole make-up and wardrobe portion of theater production, ain't she? She was a bit off her game today though---black was a bad choice for this production--she just blended right in with all the other black plastics that inhabit The Fox Noise Circuit & Freakshow. She looked like one of the cameras topped off with a cheap blonde wig.
She does need to work with the camera crew more often though--her legs & those 6 inch stripper heels are not getting enough camera action.

This is my first viewing of Mitch Daniels' speech, I read it in the NY Times and it's not as stupid in print.

The juxtaposition of Obama and Daniels' lines is revealing. In text I thought Daniels was referring to race and regulations, or some such nonsense.

I'm obviously too stupid to know the dog whistle "efforts to divide us, to curry favor with some Americans by castigating other." talk about a strawman argument.

The FauxNoise folks are pre-scripted, but only some of them seem to have memorized their lines (the sign of future GOP success.)

The FauxNoise crew wants people to ignore Mitt paying 15% while I'm paying 31% even though I'm one of the founders of my company and helped invent our patented technology!

Listen to all those buzzwords, "Evil rich people" "pits one class of people against another", "thrives on division," "penalize you for being wealthy". Wow! Frank Luntz has been busy.

I especially like the silence when Megyn prompts about making $1M a year. Doug Shoen is looking pretty sheepish. What a tool!

            I was laughing pretty hard at this when I looked up my link earlier;

From 1953 until 1995, the Generals played exhibitions against the Globetrotters, winning only six games, the last in 1971, and losing more than 13,000. It was as the New Jersey Reds that the Generals' last win came in a game against the Globetrotters. On January 5, 1971, the Globetrotters lost a game in Martin, Tennessee, in overtime to the Reds. It was Klotz himself who sank the winning basket for a 100-99 score that ended the Globetrotters' 2,499-game winning streak.

I hope there were some management and coaching shake-ups during those 40 years.

This is because REAL Democrats wouldn't spout these ridiculous "Class Warfare" talking points. Real Democrats know that this isn't about "Punishing The Rich for their Success", it's about getting our financial house back in order. We know that under the Clinton Tax Rates - which *EVERY* Republican including Newt Gingrich voted against - we both grew the economy, created jobs, created MORE MILLIONAIRES and Balanced the Budget. If that's what we all want to do, then that's how we do it, period. The longer we delay that, the longer we prolong and stall the full recovery of this country.<p> Also a real Democrat wouldn't go on Fox News where they're just being used an "Integrity Shield" for all of Fox's BS Partisan Propaganda.

"They don't sound like democrats" because, they're NOT! Or maybe they voted democrat once in their life. I voted for John Warner ONCE, it doesn't make me a republican. The man who worked for Bill Clinton raised tax several times. Guess what…we had good economic times and a SURPLUS....Megon!!!
