Another fine example of "If Obama is for it, I'm against it".

Just put the appropriate slur after the word because...
racist, socialist, Black Panther, Ayers, Gay, French,
anti-semitic, Biased Media, Rev Wright, Muslim...

Obama should come out in favor of tax cuts for the rich. The GOP will fall all over themselves fighting it, and in no time the rich will be paying their fair share and liking it because Obama will be seen as being against it.

This is why Republican Presidential hopefuls can not beat Obama in a debate. HYPOCRISY.
FOR EXAMPLE: When Obama said he liked Mitt Romney's Healthcare plan, Mitt immediately ran from it (he doesn't even want to discuss his own success).
Republicans Core values and core principles is nothing but a myth in the Obama era.
It will be easy to trip Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich up in a debate because the ONLY convictions they have is their dislike for the President (this only makes Republicans dumb and desperate). That is not enough to win debates, not against the greatest debater and public speaker in recent history, just ask John McCain.
Debates are more about policies, ideas, issues and a vision for America. All the candidates deserve a failing grade on each count.
Obama said it doesn't matter who wins the GOP nomination, because he will go against an ideology not an idependent thinker. Deep down inside all the candidates are the same.

when I started investing about 22 years ago, I talked to 3 different brokers. All three said the same thing about cap gains taxes, and that was, taxes should never enter into the equation of what to buy, when to buy, or what to sell, and when to sell. I wish I had taken that advice. I would probably be a lot richer today, but I got greed and the tech bubble burst before I got rid or everything, all because I tried to save a few points over short term rates versus long terms. In other words, it's not tax rates investors worry about. It's when my gain is maximized...SELL.

If there was truth in labeling, Rove's book would be titled "How to be a Treasonous Lying Weasel and Get Away With It."

Yet another thing that Obama-Holder let slide that has bitten all of us in the behind.

A Capital Gains Tax Increase should be at a progressive rate IMO. It'd be consistent with Income Tax rates. Poor people who happen to buy a few shares shouldn't be hammered like millionaire investors who own double-digit percentages of shares in multiple companies.

I agree. Treat it as ordinary income. Even if retirees have accumulated millions in their 401k, they won't be hit with the higher rate unless they withdraw it all at once.

If you want to give tax breaks to someone, give them to businesses that actually create jobs in this country, as Obama proposed in his speech.

This is what FOXPAC is pushing, if you listen to the radio

Cmdr Pill Popper says people who are unemployed shouldn't have the right to vote.
This position is seconded by the rest of the right wing peanut gallery

Hannity says anyone who recieves any form og government assistance shouldn't have the right to vote (no mention if corporate welfare also applies but I'm guessing not)

Neil Boortz says anyone without at least $60,000 in the bank shouldn't have the right to vote

Ann Coulter says giving women the right to vote was a mistake

These evil people have been pushing for an America where the only the top 1% have a say. And when they saw how 1/2 of America responded to OWS they stepped on the gas.

If your summaries are accurate, and I fear they are, one is left to imagine who their audience is or what state of denial of reality they inhabit?

"Government assistance" is most American farmers, those on Medicare, those on Social Security, those receiving a Mortgage Interest Deduction, those with college loan Pell grants...

It should also include those using the public airwaves, which are freely granted with only the cost of a license application.

The Republicans have managed to parlay Southern Racist Resentment and Evangelical Nutbag Paranoia into several stunning electoral victories in this generation. One would hope that this tank will eventually run dry, when the vast American Middle realizes that today's Republican Party has no interest in governing the country.

Another thing about Repubs is demographics. Once today's twenty and thirty somethings are in the "power years" (40's-50's) will there be any type of Repubs left? It seems like that generation is must more attuned to perspective and inclusion, especially in the educated portion. Do the Repubs know or care about that?

Speaking of Rove's mouth, his lips appeared awfully chapped. Clearly they are over-worked from having them constantly wrapped around a certain anatomical part of the uber-rich he prostitutes his services for.

Going a step further, I have a number Rove should wrap his porcine head around. The number is 91%. That is the percentage of citizens who favor the "idiotic proposal and bad decision" President Obama is espousing. Hell Rove, I'm not sure 91% of us are sure the sun will come up tomorrow, but they sure don't agree with you.

Led by Joe Walsh and the Hamster, the GOP will start advocating a 0% rate on capital gains.

There is no longer even a facade the little people matter.

A pay check for going to work in an office from a company that employs you are wages not capital gins.....A pay check for a job someone hired you to do is not capital gains. It makes no difference if you are a plumber, mechanic, doctor, lawyer, banker,or work behind the counter of a convenience store...In the before mentioned examples you either have a job,or get paid for a service.....A wall street banker who invest other people's money pay check is not capital gains. His paycheck, and bonus is a fee,or wages for doing a job,or providing a service

I wonder if Mitt Romney will confess that he probably paid 0 to 3% income tax for the 3 to 10 years tax returns that he feel would damage him to much if he released them "in the internet age"???

      Rove is scared, I think.

At least they were honest enough to admit that this is all about their taxes going up.

But that's all they were honest about.

Neither one of them knows jack about taxes, tax policy, or economics, for all of their supercilious tone and smug, self-congratulatory rhetoric.

Rove just said, "Let's be honest about it...blah, blah, blah... payroll taxes...Social Security...going belly up"

Rove is not allowed to use the phrase, "let's be honest about it" unless it's followed up immediately by, "I should be in jail."
