        I actually went hiking down a very remote trail in the Grand Canyon. The guide we had also took O'Reilly down, not on the same trail, but still a pretty wild hike for a person like Bill, and our guide told us some of the funniest stories I have EVER heard about anyone back country hiking. Too many to list here, but let's just say Bill is a VERY...um....huh...funny, yeah THAT's the word I am looking for, funny man.

    These people who so jealously guard the US Constitution should reread Article VI, "This Constitution ... shall be the supreme Law of the Land...." The NPS Director is right to hold First Amendment rights above other law.

    The Nation's Feb 13th edition has a must-read article on this topic, by an ex-Marine, Iraq War vet and former Merrill Lynch trader. This is the final paragraph:
    But more fundamentally, if Occupy has taught me anything it is that we must live up to our own values. There is nothing you could write on a sign that could offend me more than seeing police take away someone's right to free speech. What we do as soldiers is meaningless if our government takes away those freedoms while we are sent to supposedly defend them. Americans applaud protest throughout the world as a legitimate way for people to express their thirst for democracy. Is it really possible that everyone has a point except those who protest here?

  It's funny that Megyn, who is not a fool, feels that she has to kiss O'Reilly's ass.
  
  She is, however, completely dishonest. I honestly don't know how she lives with herself.
  
  The country needs an honest, reasonable conservative alternative. There are plenty of people yearning for that.
  
  We have been stuck with yahoos for a decade at least.

    The problem is that the "yahoos" or Reichwhiners to use my favorite term, have so perverted the word "conservative" that no reasonable person wants to be associated with them. To be honest, I'm a conservative like my father before me. Up until the "election" of Georgy Boy I was more likely to vote for Republicans and saw the fundamentalists as useful idiots. Alas, the freaks grabbed the reins and I don't think there can be a reasonable alternative until they are marginalized and/or dead.

  Hmm, I'm wondering if BillO's attitude towards the NPS Director has more to do with the fact that the NPS won't carry BillO's "Killing Lincoln" book in their Ford Theature museum store than it does the Occupy movement (which BillO has already declared to be dead numerous times). This is perhaps just a back door way for BillO to try and get back at the NPS folks. Petty? Yes but that's how BillO rolls.

  Apparently Bill doesn't really believe in free speech. There is really no reason to kick them out of McPherson Square. I was just there the other day. It is kind of quiet. Tents are up. People are milling about. They are not being rude or disrespectful of anyone. They are not in the way.
