Washington, DC -- Today, Media Matters for America announced the launch of "Two Minutes Hate" -- a daily video product that will round up the most noteworthy examples of hateful rhetoric, offensive commentary, and conservative paranoia on talk radio. As Media Matters has documented, there is a nationwide network of conservative radio hosts who regularly attack immigrants, women, the LGBT community, minorities, the poor and homeless, progressives, unions, college students, and even autistic children.
Watch our first three episodes HERE.
"The public needs to understand that the vitriol on talk radio goes well beyond Rush Limbaugh," said Eric Burns, president of Media Matters. "As 'Two Minutes Hate' will demonstrate daily, Limbaugh's show continues to be an inspiration for the countless conservative radio hosts who spread similarly hateful rhetoric from coast to coast."
BACKGROUND
"Two Minutes Hate," a reference to George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, will summarize each day's lowlights in conservative talk radio in a two-minute video.
