The AP has promoted Liz Sidoti to "national political writer," the AP's "'go-to' source reporter, strategic thinker and writer, and a leader among peers."

Political journalists were immediatel a-twitter (sorry) about Sidoti's new job, with both Chuck Todd and Mike Allen referring to it as one of the most important in political journalism.

AP's Sidoti smears Obama

AP's Sidoti falsely asserted "the only outside groups running ads in earnest so far are those aligned with Obama"

Ignoring his costly policies on taxes and Iraq, AP called McCain a "deficit hawk"

AP again reported McCain "didn't embrace the [bitch] epithet" without noting that he called the question "excellent"

AP reported McCain's "ready response" to Obama on health care, but not that it was false

AP falsely reported Obama called Social Security "the single most pressing fiscal challenge we face by far"

News outlets continue to label Murtha "pro-military," suggesting most Democrats are not

... and more.
