On Scarborough Country on June 29, host and former U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough (R-FL) extended his attacks on author/documentarian Michael Moore and his new film, Fahrenheit 9/11, to Democrats -- including Senator John Kerry (D-MA) and Democratic members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Scarborough stated, “I think any Democrat who embraces this man's [Moore's] hateful message is not fit to lead America”; he then challenged Kerry “to separate himself from the [Moore's] politics of hate.” Scarborough announced he will be sending “every congressman and every senator on Capitol Hill a questionnaire ... asking, do you agree with Michael Moore's vision of America or not?” and “report[ing] it [the responses] to the American people.”

Scarborough continued his attacks on Democrats via Moore in the segment of the show titled “Joe's Got Issues,” during which he showed a video clip of a June 24 news conference with Moore and Democratic members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), including Representative Elijah E. Cummings (MD), Maxine Waters (CA), Representative Charles B. Rangel (NY), Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee (TX), Representative Corrine Brown (FL), and Representative Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (IL) -- just after Scarborough said the following: "[S]ome Democratic officials ... are ... cheering for the success of our enemies overseas, like [Abu Musab] al-Zarqawi."

SCARBOROUGH: But, sadly, after yesterday's historic handover in Iraq, I am afraid some Democratic officials hate George Bush so much that they are finding themselves cheering for the success of our enemies overseas, like [Abu Musab] al-Zarqawi. They ridiculed the handover. They mocked efforts to beat terrorists to the punch, and they have willingly embraced as a party a filmmaker who calls America stupid, who says USA got what they deserved on September 11, and compared terrorists like al-Zarqawi to our founding fathers. How sad that the party of [Democratic National Committee chairman] Terry McAuliffe and the increasingly radical left have embraced such a hateful agenda.
