CNN's one-voter RNC survey: Lothian claimed NH “could be bad” for Kerry

To support his claim that New Hampshire “could be bad [for Senator John Kerry] because they do know so much about him,” CNN Boston bureau chief Dan Lothian cited the opinion of just one New Hampshire voter: a delegate on the floor of the Republican National Convention.

Here's the exchange, from the September 2 edition of CNN's live convention coverage:

CNN ANCHOR WOLF BLITZER: Dan [Lothian], you would think that New Hampshire would be a slam dunk for [Senator] John Kerry since he is from neighboring Massachusetts. Is that good or bad for him the fact that he lives right next door?

LOTHIAN: Perhaps it could be bad because they do know so much about him. I was talking to one of the delegates, he says, “All along we have been able to follow everything that he does in that state. We know his record very well.” And that goes back to what I was saying earlier that they didn't have to be reminded about all of these attacks that they heard this week. They say they know him and so that's why they just want to hear now about the future, not about what John Kerry has done in the past.
