MSNBC joins David Bossie posse, following in footsteps of FOX News Channel and The Washington Times

Less than one week after The Washington Times and FOX News Channel gave David N. Bossie -- a man whom fellow Republicans Newt Gingrich, Representative Dan Burton (R-IN), and former President George H. W. Bush have excoriated -- a forum to promote his forthcoming book (as reported by Media Matters for America on May 20), MSNBC did the same. On May 26, Bossie appeared as a guest on MSNBC's Scarborough Country. During his interview with host Joe Scarborough, Bossie promoted his book Intelligence Failure: How Clinton's National Security Policy Set the Stage for 9/11, which will be released in June by the conservative imprint WorldNetDaily Books (WND Books): "What I do in my book, Joe, is lay out an entire case over the eight years, the decay and the negligence that the Clinton administration set forth towards the Central Intelligence Agency and towards the U.S. military. ... It [September 11] was a tragedy of major proportions, and that is why I say Bill Clinton's legacy is 9/11."

As Media Matters for America reported on May 20, Bossie was fired in 1998 from his job as chief investigator for the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight -- which was investigating alleged Clinton White House campaign finance abuses -- for his role in releasing selectively edited transcripts of former Clinton administration official Webster Hubbell's prison conversations.
