Forty-five minutes after the conclusion of President Bush's February 17 press conference announcing his nomination of U.S. ambassador to Iraq John D. Negroponte as national intelligence director, the following exchange took place on FOX News:

BRIGITTE QUINN (FOX News Live anchor): I really haven't heard anything negative about John Negroponte for the hour that I've been sitting here.
