Take Action: Speak out against Bill Bennett's comments
Take Action
On the September 28 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio program, Bill Bennett remarked that "you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down." People across the country, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, have called for Bennett to apologize for his remarks. Even White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Bennett's comments were "not appropriate."
Take action! Contact the show's distributor, Salem Radio Network, and urge the company to apologize for Bennett's comments and to ensure that such remarks don't receive airtime in the future.

As reprehensible as Bill Bennett's racist comment is, even more reprehnsible is the comment from the White House. Bennett suggest's genocide and the president of the United States thinks it's not appropriate. Is that all the outrage Bush could muster? Is he so inured to Republican hate speech that "not appropriate" is his only reaction? Is this what he meant when he campaigned he would bring honor and dignity back to the White House? All I see that's been brought in is disgusting.
Bennett suggest's genocide .....by kitsykitty

Oh please, let's be fair here. I have condemned Bennett's remarks too but he does not suggest genoicide. Can't liberals ever argue facts instead of making something bad enough even worse......no need to here.
It's easy for you to say that - you're not part of a group of people that conservatives blame for everything that is wrong with our country.
You've made comments about people taking personal responsibility for their actions. Maybe YOUR leaders should take responsibility for the lies and corruption they foment.
Talk about the "pot calling the kettle black"
no pun intended..
If you would take the time and go back and read the whole Bennett statement, I don't believe you would find it at reprehensible as you say here. What would you have the White House do, string him up at high noon in the Rose Garden? I was outraged when I read the MMFA initial posting and its headline, and then I went back and read the whole story. In doing so, I found the comment now more reprehensible than Rep Rangel calling gwb "Bull O'Conner(sic)" The partisian out of context remarks come from both sides in a blantant attempt to "fire up the base". And it appears to be succeeding, as partisians from both sides are willing to vent without independant research.
You are being unrealistic and hyperbolic. Bennett did not come out as being pro-genocide, despite what you may want to believe about him. Stick to the facts, not your own inferences.
Simon Wiesenthal's was a famed Nazi Hunter who spent 40 years of his life tracking down Nazi War criminals. He died earlier last month (Sep 2005). On a recent NPR broadcast, a close associate of his remark "that people always criticized Mr. Wiesenthal for the work he was conducting, stating the War was over why bother?” Simon Wiesenthal remarked, "I'm doing this for my grandchildren, because if the murders of the past got away with it, the murders of the future will get away with it."
Its very ironic how freely a prominent white American male figure (Bill Bennett) can suggest black American babies to the chopping block of abortion (per his discussion) to reduce crime in a country that has systematically tried to strip the very humanity from a race of people.
It’s with this same since of dedication (of Mr. Wiesenthal's)that African Americans must work to challenge such foolish rhetoric in public forms ("We are not the Scapegoats"). Just review historical and current American history/Policies, and it will clearly reveal to everyone (THE WORLD) how African Americans have been denigrated and wrongly stereotyped. So, logically thinking, Bill Bennett can make his absurd rhetorical (First Amendment) response base on his American roots, not the true all-Encompassing factors..
