      The Post shold be quite aware that many readers believe that the online version of the washingtonpost is the actual newspaper. The paper needs to provide a clear picture of the US. The paper can not allow its identity to become confused with the US government. Then the wasingtonpost will only become a propaganda element of the US government. Separation is a must.

      too bad the post wasn't "scrutinizing" all bush's wmd claims, instead of being white house stenographer. the post and the new york times were the biggest print purveyors of bush propaganda in the lead-up to the war. they simply buried or omitted any contrary evidence, of which there was plenty.
