I note the AP does not have an "ombudsman" who handles complaints about errors, omissions, or general bias towards "packaged" news from government sources.

As a "not for profit" organization, are they under the same danger of infiltration by "conservative" directorship as was PBS, where the White House was in full takeover mode trying to install THEIR guys on the controlling board (the Tomlinson affair)?

I recall when the Rightwing installed "one of their own" on the board of AARP, in stealth manner, in order to dull the attacks on administration policy from that organization. The new director unilaterally overruled the input of the majority of membership, and placed AARP in "official" support of Bush's Medicare proposals (which are now a disaster for seniors). Many hundreds revoked their AARP membership in protest, which was fine with the administration: AARP had long been a thorn in their side.

So there is virtually no limit to the White House's desire to "seize control of the message" from any and all sources.

Is the AP, like FOX, now under the state control of Bush sympathizers, promoters and apologists?
