Gibson: "Make more babies" because in "[t]wenty-five years ... the majority of the population is Hispanic"

Make more babies," because he had found out, from a recently released report, that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later repeated: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies."
On the May 11 edition of Fox News' The Big Story, host John Gibson advised viewers during the "My Word" segment of his program to "[d]o your duty. Make more babies." He then cited a May 10 article, which reported that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "By far, the greatest number [of children under five] are Hispanic. You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later claimed: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies." Then, referring to Russia's projected decline in population, Gibson claimed: "So far, we are doing our part here in America but Hispanics can't carry the whole load. The rest of you, get busy. Make babies, or put another way -- a slogan for our times: 'procreation not recreation'."
As The Washington Post reported, the U.S. Census Bureau recently released population estimates that found that nearly half (45 percent) of U.S. children under five are racial or ethnic minorities, and that "the percentage is increasing mainly because the Hispanic population is growing so rapidly." The U.S. Census notes that, "[e]stimates usually are for the present and the past, while projections are estimates of the population for future dates." The U.S. Census last released its population projection in March 2004 and found that, by the year 2030, Hispanics will account for roughly 20 percent of the total population in the United States. The U.S. Census also projected that Hispanics will make up 24 percent of the nation's population by 2050. The two-year old projection has not been updated to take into account the new data on the race and ethnicity of children under five.
Gibson also noted that Europe is "not having enough babies to sustain their population," adding that "[c]onsequently, they are inviting in more and more immigrants every year to take care of things and those immigrants are having way more babies than the native population, hence 'Eurabia'."

First, a story yesterday that half of the kids in this country under five years old are minorities. By far, the greatest number are Hispanic. You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic. Why is that? Well, Hispanics are having more kids than others. Notably, the ones Hispanics call "gabachos" -- white people -- are having fewer.
Now, in this country, European ancestry people, white people, are having kids at the rate that does sustain the population. It grows a bit. That compares to Europe where the birth rate is in the negative zone. They are not having enough babies to sustain their population. Consequently, they are inviting in more and more immigrants every year to take care of things and those immigrants are having way more babies than the native population, hence Eurabia.
Why aren't they having babies? Because babies get in the way of a prosperous and comfortable modern life. Peanut butter fingerprints on the leather seats in the BMW. The Euros are particular -- in particular can't be bothered with kids. Underscore that second point.
A second story, today, reports that [Russian President] Vladimir Putin is so concerned about the declining and imploding population of Russia, he is paying couples to have babies. Imagine, procreating for cash in Mother Russia. Putin has taken this step because at the rate things are going, Russia will lose close to 45 million in population in the next 45 years. Russia will be two thirds of today's population.
This is not a good trend for Russia and it won't be here either if that should happen. To put it bluntly, we need more babies. Forget about that zero population growth stuff that my poor generation was misled on. Why is this important? Because civilizations need population to survive. So far, we are doing our part here in America but Hispanics can't carry the whole load. The rest of you, get busy. Make babies, or put another way -- a slogan for our times: "procreation not recreation." That's "My Word."

I can't believe he actually said, "We need more babies." Racist fearmongering is not unusal on Fox, but Gibson really takes the cake with this one. He just fell short of saying something about "white pride."
The whole commentary is from the "My Word" portion of the show in which he abandons straight newscasting and goes for an often humorous or quirky point, very similar to what David Brinkley used to do on this Sunday "This Week" show.

Happy Boy Farms sells organic produce. There doesn't seem to be anything overly sinister about it. You shouldn't post comments that level thinly veiled accusations if you aren't even going to click on the link. That's irresponsible.
Thanks for asking. In my home state of New Mexico, "gabacho" is a common term for non-Hispanic Caucasians. The Latino residents used this term because the first whiteys they saw were French people from the Gave River region--hence "gabacho," a native of Gave. I'm surprised Gibson knew the term; I haven't heard it since I left Albuquerque.
"Gabachos" is a derogatory slang term used by Mexicans (and some other latinos) to deride white people in the U.S.
So, you see, everyone is racist.
Only when we recognize that, can we all begin to find ways to overcome the problems of racism.

A significant factor that does not get addresses in this debate. Gibson calling for more white babies smacks of the Pope urging Ethiopians not to use contraceptives. No worries there though. Famine and AIDs evened out the high birth rates. Sarcastic of course. This is another example of the far reaching effects of the immigration debate. Another element not being discussed is the lack of accountability for mexico to take care of it's own people and provide a better environment for the rise of a middle class. The last thing this planet needs is more people. This religiously motivated "dominion over the Earth" garbage must stop. I suggest reading Diamond's "Collapse", Ronald Wright's "A Short History of Progress" or Daniel Quinn's "Ishmael".
But here's what I'm for: blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics, aboriginals, should all have babies together. We use race as a platform to fear-monger (a la Gibson), justify hate and segregation, and divide humanity when it should be coming together. If we all have babies together, in a few hundred years, we'll be a beautiful mocha-coloured species with slight epicanthic folds.

I don't see how his statements are racist. Maybe John just believes the country would be different without a European cultural base. The fact is that a country's cultural base is based on the country's majority population. Societies are heavily influenced by the culture of "a different people." In this case, hispanic people and hispanic culture are the focus. Tack on immigration from latin coutries, and it only intensifies the phenomenon.
The majority population hispanic? Would this make a difference in the state of our nation? Hell yes, in almost every facet. We can see it history, and now we're starting to see it here and in europe. Like it or not, there *are* population trends identifiable to ethnicity. It's a generalization yes, but it doesn't make it any less real. The nuances of which involve many things, but ultimately, it comes down to family and association.
America's values and standards will change, no doubt about it, and much of it will be attributed to immigration and lopsided birth rates.
Now, the issue just comes down to what you prefer. Would you prefer a traditional "european like" country or would you prefer a country which resembles the general hispanic standards, values, etc.? As this is a "progressive" community, I'd guess your preference would be the latter, as the change could be more condusive to your agenda. I on the other hand, prefer the former. I like the culture we were founded on, and I'd like to continue seeing it develop, with itself as the basis. My guess is so does Gibson.
Also note that I am partially hispanic. My mother hispanic, and my father caucasian. I am certainly not a racist, but I do believe that a society's populational traits are very key in what makes or breaks a country.
We need to have the cusp of civilization protected from these "so-called" minorities. they don't exhibit the same potential as white babies do in engineering, or sports or.... eh... but wait... what about Asian babies? Since Asians have almost zero crime rate in this country, and at least 38% have a college degree or higher, with households that on average have at least 3 income earners, it makes sense for us to set a "eugenics" policy geared toward them. We need to help the southern hemisphere through economics, so their women do not give birth to what they cannot handle. As women get better off , they have fewer children. We can find ways of overcoming fewer workers to pay for social security,etc. This malad ministration is against birth control . May we have mercy on us!

Latinos are Catholic. They make lots of babies. They love big families. Gringos, on the other hand, use birth control. They are not all Catholic. They tend to have small families.
