Horowitz and Poe promised "full-blown" rebuttals to Media Matters' debunking of The Shadow Party -- so what's taking so long?
August 8 marks the official release date of David Horowitz and Richard Poe's new book, The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party (Nelson Current). In separate responses to Media Matters for America's August 2 item exposing the doctored and misrepresented quotes, misstatements, and false and previously debunked claims in The Shadow Party, Horowitz and Poe both promised to provide complete rebuttals to Media Matters' work. In an August 4 article on FrontPageMag.com, Horowitz responded to "a sampling of one particular set of charges," noting that it was "not a full-blown response to these slanders -- that will come." Poe, in an August 2 entry to the weblog ShadowParty.com (which also appears at two other Poe-authored blogs, Poe.com and Scribe and Scroll, that largely repeat the content at ShadowParty.com) offered "just a quick rebuttal to a single minor -- yet richly illustrative -- point," promising that "an exhaustive, point-by-point refutation" is "in the works."
But to date, Media Matters has not found a "full-blown response" or "point-by-point refutation" on FrontPageMag.com, ShadowParty.com, Poe.com, or Scribe and Scroll, presumably the sites on which the promised rebuttals would be posted. Indeed, Horowitz has even taken the time to respond -- with yet more falsehoods -- to a separate Media Matters item that had nothing to do with The Shadow Party. Given that Horowitz and Poe have presumably already done the research that they think would rebut Media Matters' alleged "slanders" of their book, and that today (August 8) marks the book's official release date and the beginning of Horowitz and Poe's book tour -- which kicks off with appearances by Horowitz on Sean Hannity's nationally syndicated radio show and Fox News' Hannity & Colmes -- Media Matters has to ask: What, exactly, is taking so long?
Sometimes, it takes a while to fabricate the facts required to try and hide the truth.
Frankly, I'm a bit puzzled why they didn't immediately do what they're so good at: pulling the facts from their asses.

Publishers: ideological screeds are not non-fiction and you are smarmy for marketing untruthful books as such.
Have fun Hannity! This is your favorite kind of half-baked conservatism to hawk. Enjoy your association with radical liars, it's not exactly like you are hurting your stellar reputation.

Did you actually write this? We do not judge or condemn Mr. Soros for youthful actions taken under duress, and in fear for his life.

Oh, I've got to listen to some of this on the way home! These two were made for each other. I like this example of how Horowitz thinks *reflecting on the death of ABC anchor Peter Jennings): Peter Jennings is dead, may he rest in peace. Lest we forget, however, while he was alive Peter Jennings did considerable damage to the cause of civilization and human deceny [sic] by his sympathy for Jew-hating terrorists and their supporters.

After his time with the SDS back in the day, when he was a Communist, Horowitz came to the startling (to him!) conclusion that none of those hippy chicks was interested in having unbridled sex with a dork, regardless of his supposed radical politics. His repressed sexual frustration then exploded at the cause of all that pain... those dirty, filthy anti-war, pro-woman activists who actually meant it when they said it was their choice who to be with, not some man's. The vitriolic hatred that vomits from this man's mouth and pen regularly is simply a result of a wimp who never grew out of his awkward stage, and can't get laid to this day!
Is a classic Right Wing Authoritarian conservative.
