AP, LA Times mentioned Rove's role in campaigns but failed to note Ralston's resignation amid alleged ties to Abramoff

Two separate October 11 AP articles reported on campaign stops Rove was planning in support of Ohio Republican congressional candidate Joy Padgett and Nebraska Republican Senate candidate Pete Ricketts, respectively, but neither story made any mention of Ralston or Abramoff. Similarly, an October 10 Los Angeles Times article that discussed Rove's predictions for the upcoming election did not note Ralston's resignation.
An October 10 AP article on "Rove's attempts to rally Republicans," however, noted that "[l]ast week, Susan Ralston, a key aide to Rove, stepped down from her post as special assistant to President Bush" and referred to the congressional report's findings about her "extensive contacts with disgraced influence peddler Jack Abramoff."

Tom Daxon, state Republican chairman, said he was "not familiar with the intricacies of what goes on in the White House, but everything I know of Karl Rove is he is an honorable man.

Perhaps because there is no logical nexus between the two.
when the hell are the democrats going to start raising hell about why rove is still in the white house. indicted or not, he was revealing valerie plame's identity to reporters before novak ever printed it. her status was classified information. it's very simple. rove and libby were outing her to reporters and trying to hide the fact they did so. every single day rove is still a part of this government is a slap in the face to every cia agent. and it's just further proof that the bush administration does not, and never has, cared about the security of this country. from the day they took office, it has been political expediency over loyalty to this nation. how much more proof do the people who support bush need to see. although, as long as rush explains everything....
