On the October 16 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann named Fox News host Bill O'Reilly the "Worst Person in the World" for falsely claiming, as Media Matters for America documented, that it "is never the case" that a "mother's life is in danger" due to pregnancy. Olbermann stated of O'Reilly's assertion: "For crying out loud, the moron already thinks he's a newscaster; now he thinks he is a freaking doctor, too."

O'Reilly has frequently been honored in Olbermann's nightly "Worst Person" segment, most recently on the October 12 edition of Countdown, alongside Media Research Center president L. Brent Bozell III, Fox News host Sean Hannity, nationally syndicated radio host Laura Ingraham, and Robert Zelnick, Boston University professor and former ABC News reporter, after each misrepresented Ted Turner's remark that he has "problems" with President Bush declaring that "either you're with us or you're against us," as Media Matters also noted.

From the October 16 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:

OLBERMANN: But our winner: Bill-O -- decrying abortions, in particular, abortions in the event the mother's life is in danger because that is, quote, "never the case, because you can always have a C-section and do those kinds of things." Yeah, except for ectopic pregnancies, and eclampsia, and H.E.L.L.P. Syndrome. For crying out loud, the moron already thinks he's a newscaster; now he thinks he's a freaking doctor, too. Bill Orally: today's Worst Person in the World.

killing mothers to save fetuses. Thanks Dr. Bill. Why don't you go kill some more mothers you mother-killing killer of mothers. Why do you hate mothers Bill? What have they ever done to you? Oh, right, they want control over their own bodies...and that's a problem because YOU want control over their own bodies. I get it, if they disagree with your attempts to control their own bodies you should just kill them. And that's all to support the culture of life?

BILL O'REILLY IS NEOFASCIST ABSOLUTELY--READ HIS REMARKS AND COMPARE IT WITH ANY MEANINGFUL DEFINITION OF FASCISM TODAY. HE'S A SALIVATING NEOFASCIST OF EVIL. SO, YES, INDEED, BILL THE STUD (ASK HIS OLD ASSOCIATE PRODUCER, WHOM BILL WAS LURID AND DEPRAVED WITH) IF HE IS A NEOFASCIST OF EVIL AND HE WILL TELL YOU HE IS NOT. HE IS A PATRIOT, HE WILL SAY, A PROUD AMERICAN. LIKE A PROUD ASSYRIAN OR PROUD BABYLONIAN OF OLD? WICKED BILL, HE IS JUST SO EXCEEDINGLY WICKED AS A HUMAN BEING THAT IT DEFIES LOGIC THAT HE IS NOT POSSESSED BY EVIL!

with MMFA posting so many of these "Olbermann named (fill in the blank) 'Worst Person'" posts? (Today, yesterday, Friday ...)

MMFA posted on the same issue yesterday.

It only leaves the impression that "conservative misinformation" can't be much of a problem in the media if MMFA is filling so much space with these silly (and sometimes repetitive) posts.

      My 2 cents. Thank you.

Because Olbermann reports on items that Media Matters reports on. It is rare (I wonder why) that conservative misinformation gets corrected in the mainstream media, but when it does, Media Matters reports who is doing so.

It wouldn't matter. Last I looked, Shoes89 doesn't allow for comments of any kind on his site.

One reason is that it is always good to acknowledge others in the media that are dedicated to blasting conservative misinformation. Also, it seems that Keith may get a significant percentage of the info FOR his WPITW awards from this site (the mention above boils down MMFA's objections almost verbatim) so it's good to give him a nod.

Anyone that wants to take away a womens right too choose is a threat to our way of life.

It is our BODIES, not Bill O Pukely's.

I usually dont like Olbermann but he is 150% right on this one.

Calling Bill O'Reilly a domestic terrorist because he has a different view than you do on Abortion?

Has Bill O'Reilly endorsed killing Abortion Doctors or bomb clinics? Your statement is disgusting and outrageous.

I am pro choice but I get disgusted at outrageous language like that.

As for Olbermann he is as funny as having teeth pulled. This is my 10 cents.

and as for Olbermann not being funny...perhaps...haven't watched the show...but, the script "first this moron thinks he's a newscaster, and now he thinks he's a doctor" was pretty funny.

You are calling me an outrage because I think Bill O'Reilly is a domestic terrorist?

You are an outrage for defending anyone who wants to take my right to choose away.

O'Lielly wants to take away choice, that is in my opinion an act of fear and terrorism.

but the average minute of his show hits a better humor total than a few seasons of comedians Rush, Billdo, Hannity, etc.

And I would say that anyone who encourages hatred of people, just because they're not scared p*ssys who agree with his anti-American views, is a domestic terrorist.

If that's an outrage, I've got a pretty high outrage threshold.

No, not this peace-loving man. Although he considers all of his rants opinions, he has called for destruction of cities, people and other countries economic devastation. Sounds like what the bad guys want to do to us. What do we call them? TERRORISTS...so, Billy the Kid can be called a FEARORIST or POOPHEAD if that makes you feel better. Let us not forget the abuse he directed towards a female counterpart by threatening her future and economic welfare. Wonder why he paid her??? If I put a number after my posting name, will I become a Conservative Parrot? My apologies to those of you who don't slant that way. And MMFA keep up the good work.
